We are passionate Human Resources professionals who work collaboratively with all departments in our Headquarters and field locations to assess the needs of our leaders and employees and provide equitable access to developmental opportunities.
This role is aimed to provide a unique lens to our Organizational Effectiveness and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team, by amplifying our programs and leveraging our tools towards success. The L&D Consultant will be pivotal in helping us reach our employees in a hybrid workforce and building intentional content for our audiences. L&D and NW Natural together provide a great opportunity to get creative and see your work come to life, within a supportive team environment. Day to Day:
Design, develop, and implement comprehensive learning programs, workshops, and training materials that align with organizational goals and overall “People Strategy.”
Create and facilitate engaging and effective learning content, including e-learning modules, hybrid, instructor-led materials, videos, job aids, and interactive resources.
Optimize our Learning Management System (LMS SuccessFactors), ensuring content is up-to-date, accessible, user-friendly and lead SMEs through a lean governance process.
Utilize a variety of instructional design methodologies and tools to ensure content is relevant, learner-centered, and meets the needs of diverse audiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs to curate learning solutions (existing eLearning offerings, reference guides, other resources) to address employee learning or development needs.
Using authoring software (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise), make updates to eLearning courses as needed.
Facilitate the creation and execution of content quizzes and certifications via authoring software and LMS.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, feedback, and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in learning and development to bring innovative approaches to the organization’s training initiatives.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the implementation of performance improvement initiatives, leadership development programs, and succession planning strategies.
Demonstrate appropriate leadership and decision-making behaviors; maintain technical job knowledge and personal skill development.
Partner with other areas within Human Resources to address issues that overlap areas of responsibility and expertise.
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously; able to break assignments into component tasks and execute on time and to a high level of quality.
Support Company’s commitment to a culture of safe work practices. Come on your first day with:
Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, human resources, organization development or equivalent discipline/experience.
Requires a minimum of 5 years (level 2) or minimum 8 years (level 3) experience as a L&D Consultant with leadership and employee development knowledge, with experience in instructional design and delivery of training, data analytics and organizational development.
Strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design principles.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Clearly conveys information and ideas through oral and written communication to stakeholders at all levels in the organization. Strong facilitation and public speaking skills.
Highly flexible, collaborative, self-directed, and adapts well to a rapidly changing environment.
Analytical mindset with the capability to gather and interpret data to assess training effectiveness.
Proficient in blended learning techniques, e-learning authoring tools, multimedia software and Learning Management Systems (SuccessFactors preferred.)
Professional certifications in instructional design principles, training facilitations or related fields are a preferred, including DISC, Crucial Conversations, Hogan, etc.

Base salary range: $83,850.00 – $119,450.00 (Level 2) or $93,100.00 – $132,650.00 (Level 3) per year, depending on qualifications
Annual Target Incentive: Level 2 , 9.5% target
Level 3, 9.5% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% – 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
