A Typical Day
As the Learning and Development Manager at Hilmar, you’ll lead the strategy, creation, implementation, and assessment of leadership development and essential skill-building programs for employees at all levels. You’ll enjoy a dynamic role, partnering closely with HR business partners and company leaders to craft and execute learning initiatives that drive our workforce toward peak performance. This role can be based in Hilmar, CA, Dodge City, KS or Dalhart, TX.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior management in designing and executing talent development programs and training sessions aimed at enhancing overall success in people development initiatives.
- Oversee and facilitate instructor-led training sessions; engage leaders and stakeholders to support facilitation and delivery needs.
- Manage project and program development, implementation, and evaluation using instructional design methods, industry-leading research, and adoption of metrics and analytics.
- Implement effective methods to optimize the learning roadmap, budget and allocate resources, and communicate programs internally.
- Foster relationships with key external partners such as third party training vendors and facilitation companies.
- Develop and implement inclusive strategies within talent development programs and practices to cultivate a culture of belonging.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Learning & Development, Org Development, Human Resources or related field plus 5 years related experience OR Master’s degree in related field plus 1 year related experience.
- Experience in LD/ OE leadership experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; manufacturing background a plus
- Proficient working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to foster trust, influence, coach and guide talent at all career stages, business leaders, and team
- Problem solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication – especially presentation skills, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years related leadership experience in HR OR Master’s degree plus 2 years related experience
- Proficiency in at least one rapid eLearning development tool
- Certifications in Leadership and/or Facilitation
- Experience with graphic design, video editing, micro-learning, gamification, and simulations
- Experience utilizing licensed coaching tools, particularly in 360° tools to enhance individual growth.
- Experience utilizing Behavioral Assessments such as Strengths Finder, MBTI or Everything DiSC to enhance team performance.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
