Moodle Teachers – Use the Guest Quiz plugin to create easy to use Quiz

Moodle Plugins allows you to extend Moodle LMS features. You can choose from a collection of more than 2,100 plugins to extend the features list. In this post we will see about a new Moodle plugin – Guest Quiz which as the name suggests allows the guest also to participate in the quiz.

The Guest Quiz Moodle plugin is developed to allow the users with Guest access to participate in a simple and light quiz without creating their account in an “Open” course. The quiz data is also not saved in the Moodle database.

It supports only a basic question types of Moodle GIFT Format like Boolean, multichoice, number and short answers. The other question types like Text, missing word and matching are not supported.

The Guest Quiz plugin can be downloaded from the Moodle plugins repository here. In case you are new to Moodle, please go through this guide to learn how to install a Moodle plugin.

Once installed, you can add the Guest Quiz activity in your Moodle course. But please make sure that the course allows the Guest access. Afterwards, you can create GIFT questions and paste them in the sGIFT field option. Other settings are common to all other Moodle activities.

The learners can participate in the Guest quiz and get their score immediately on the screen. This data will not be saved in Moodle anywhere.

This plugin open up the possibility for students to revise and practice key questions before the exam. They can retry this Guest quiz activity multiple times until they are getting their answers correctly.
