Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer. This position requires individuals to analyze training needs for software products, formulate software training objectives, and develop software training content through engaging with other writers and stakeholders. The person will create documentation, self-paced eLearning, and other user assistance content under moderate supervision.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and reporting the status of eLearning content for PPM products, working closely with subject matter experts, other instructional designers, and technical writers.
  • Demonstrates intermediate documentation skills and strategies, including the ability to write about technical subjects clearly and concisely, perform audience analysis, and participate in peer reviews
  • Demonstrates advanced instructional design skills and can develop scenario-based learning content, tutorial videos, simulations, and assessments with guidance
  • Relies on experience and judgment to collaboratively plan and accomplish product-specific user assistance goals
  • Translates technical content into eLearning modules, courses, learning paths, and documentation as needed, creating storyboards, training plans, and other supporting documents as needed
  • Uses effective communication skills to work closely with cross-functional teams to create content that meets customer needs
  • Has experience with learning management systems (LMS), SCORM, and eLearning development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical writing, technical communication, instructional design, learning design and technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and help and/or eLearning content, preferably for commercial software products
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and flexibility to accommodate changing requirements and priorities
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of programming concepts, databases, and/or other technical subjects is preferred
  • Knowledge of Author-it, Captivate, Articulate, 360Learning, and/or other documentation and training development tools is a plus
