    MISSION FOR THE POSITION

    The Instructional Learning Designer is responsible for designing and developing live and digital learning solutions for a growing and dynamic organization. This role will identify, recommend, and create adult learning programs that meet organizational goals across multiple lines of business, focusing primarily on product and brand knowledge for the retail organization. A successful candidate will bring energy and new ideas to creating learning programs that provide engagement and flexibility while building a scalable training model for rapid growth of the Leap platform.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct thorough behavioral needs analysis to identify training needs to meet business goals
    • Identify the best learning solution for performance gaps providing holistic performance solutions (virtual/ instructor-led, online, job aid, enrollment call, workshop, social learning, etc.).
    • Design innovative learning solutions that address performance requirements with rough sketches, animatics, prototypes, storyboards, etc. grounded in sound learning design principles.
    • Develop high-quality, engaging and motivating blended learning assets incorporating multimedia content (audio and video assets, illustrations, animations, and interactive content).
    • Leverage performance data and feedback to steer future designs.
    • Provide constructive input and contribution during all phases of the learning design process.
    • Consult with cross-functional project teams, leaders, SMEs, and stakeholders.
    • Responsible for relationship management between the training team and cross-functional partners.

    MEASURES OF SUCCESS

    • Successful development, implementation and rollout of new training and sales programs to retail field teams in partnerships with relevant stakeholders
    • Strong retail team adoption of training materials, resulting in behavioral changes that drive in-store results
    • Operationally efficient and compliant stores based on standard operating procedures
    • Learning impact reports to business leaders
    • Contributes to the Leap company culture and embodiment of our shared core values

    ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education in a learning field (Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Interactive Arts and Technology, etc.) or equivalent experience.
    • 2+ years of end-to-end blended learning design experience, building task-based and behavioral programs, preferably in product sales within a retail environment.
    • Experience developing highly interactive digital courses using eLearning authoring tools, preferably Articulate products.
    • Awareness of current virtual/ instructor-led and online instructional theories and design models.
    • Experience in preparing and troubleshooting SCORM/ AICC compliant eLearning packages and working knowledge of SCORM and AICC standards.
    • Proficiency in graphic design and multimedia software (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier, Animate, Muse, Vyond, Canva, PowerPoint, Google Slides).
    • Ability to integrate lessons into an LMS platform, preferably Lessonly
    • Strong project management skills
    • Strong grasp of retail landscape, preferably with multiple brands
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication
    • Extreme attention to detail and strong ability to operate “in the weeds” without losing sight of the big picture
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving working environment
    • Entrepreneurial mindset and working style – self-starting, highly accountable, strong ability to anticipate problems and define and implement effective solutions, high output.
