    Learning Instructional Designer

    The Learning Instructional Designer provides the Customer Innovation Group with course design support in creating effective and engaging learning environments informed by desired learning outcomes. This role will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating blended learning solutions that meet business needs and incorporate varied instructional strategies to accommodate all learning styles.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with key stakeholders to clarify learning objectives, engage subject matter experts to develop content that is aligned to the established goals and structure the content for optimized learning
    • Designs and develops learning solutions, leveraging tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create learning activities that are engaging, activity-based, and results-oriented
    • Creates solutions that satisfy the needs of a diverse set of learners (e.g. eLearning, videos, quick reference guides, etc.)
    • Implements tools to track the results of learning experiences (i.e. assessments, quizzes, rubrics, evaluation strategies, etc.).
    • Analyze and interpret evaluation results and take action to improve quality of training programs
    • Update and refresh legacy courses into a more engaging, micro learning, and dynamic format reshaping content based on current needs
    • Seek out current and emerging theory, application, and best practices related to instructional design and development and apply these concepts to the business

    Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in field of educational technology
      • Minimum 5 years of experience using course authoring tools with two years of experience developing eLearning and other modalities outside of instructor-led training.
      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills (technical writing and editing preferred)
      • Demonstrates applied knowledge: adult learning theory, instructional theory, needs analysis, instructional design and development, adult learning theory, e-learning technology, delivery, and evaluation to create meaningful and effective training programs
      • Develops and maintains a network of relationships with business partners building credibility and trust in achieving learning goals, exchanging feedback and adjusting course of action as needed
      • Aptitude to learn new processes quickly, write effective learner centered objectives and ability to present content in a simplified manner
      • Ability to design quickly and under tight time constraints; know when and where to short cut the process to meet the needs of the business
      • Advanced skills in instructional design tools such as Articulate
