What are we looking for?
Intertek Alchemy is looking for an Instructional Designer to join our Creative Team in Austin, TX. As an Instructional Designer, you’ll work closely with subject matter experts, writers, and artists to design and develop high quality, engaging courseware and learning resources for a variety of industries. Experience with the development process, from needs assessment through scripting, storyboarding, and final production is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of adult learning theory, hands-on experience developing interactive eLearning, and excellent writing, communication and collaborative skills. If you have a passion for engaging learners through creative content and design and thrive on working on a variety of topics, there’s a place for you here.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with others in the Creative Team from concepting through production to ensure that courses meet clients’ needs
• Develop eLearning courses that effectively relay and check understanding of complex topics
• Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure that content objectives and best practices are defined and addressed appropriately
• Document course content, development practices, and other processes
• Stay on top of current instructional design trends and technology

What do you bring to the table?

• BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field
• Understanding of adult learning theories and principles and instructional design models
• Expertise in Articulate Storyline (preferred) or other rapid eLearning development tool
• Strong creative and instructional writing skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Experience working with an LMS and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Smartsheet a plus
