    The Temporary Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for the creation of professional story boards for e-learning modules as well as developing practitioner-focused deliverables including toolkits, rubrics, infographics, and briefs for Hanover’s Educator Learning Center product.
    In this role, you will take strategic direction from the Director and Senior Director of the Educator Learning Center team to inform the development of content you will create. You will also work in collaboration with the eLearning Product team to create high-quality, professional-grade, eLearning programming by providing the Product team with storyboards and outlines to guide e-Learning module development. You will have the opportunity to express your creativity and expertise in teacher professional learning by designing engaging activities and practical tools for applying research-based instruction and classroom management strategies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Function as a primary subject matter expert on K-12 teacher professional development and curriculum and instruction
    • Author content for teacher professional eLearning modules from outline through finished storyboards
    • Organize, create, review, and edit content for teacher professional development (e.g., teacher toolkits, rubrics, lesson plan templates) under the direction of a Senior Director.
    • Communicate consistently and promptly on progress of project(s) with other Instructional Design Specialists and e-learning manager(s).
    • Collaborate with e-learning managers on instructional design of e-learning modules for online teacher professional development platform.
    • Execute on custom client requests under direction of Director and Senior Director.
    • Manage tight deadlines to create story boards for eLearning modules, practitioner deliverables, and research reports requiring minimal editing.
    • Develop innovative ways of presenting curriculum-based professional learning.

    Qualifications:

    • Deep knowledge of K12 pedagogy and instructional practices across broad content areas such as evaluation methods, and content (e.g., literacy and math instruction, social-emotional learning, progress monitoring, evidence-based reading instruction, and teacher professional learning).
    • Knowledge of adult learning theory.
    • Experience developing K12 professional development/learning content or resources in particular, expertise in producing content for eLearning programs.
    • Experience working in K12 instructional or administrative positions.
    • Excellent research, writing, editing, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively.
    • Ability to take ownership of projects from beginning (i.e., developing a research strategy) to middle (i.e., conducting research) and end (i.e., creating a polished deliverable).
    • Willingness to tackle complex, often unfamiliar research topics.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple short and long-term projects to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to proofread and edit content to ensure quality control.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • High comfort level with Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

    Education Requirement
    Minimum of a master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, teaching, or a related discipline preferred. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience may be considered.

    Experience Requirement
    3-5 years full-time work experience in a K12 instructional or administrative role (e.g., classroom teacher, coach, curriculum development specialist, assessment interventionist). Experience creating or developing K12 professional development/eLearning content or resources is highly preferred.
