I-CampusBuddy Raises $500k in Strategic Funding From IppoPay

I-CampusBuddy, a company that provides enterprise resource planning (ERP) software solutions to the education industry, has recently raised $500,000 in a strategic funding round from IppoPay Technologies Private Limited, a Chennai-based fintech platform. With the fresh capital, the startup plans to expand its product suite beyond enterprises and target smaller schools and education institutions.

I-CampusBuddy, engages and collaborates with schools, colleges, universities and training institutes to automate processes and achieve digital transformation. On a single platform, I-CampusBuddy along with other features offers end-to-end solutions through a comprehensive set of modules, such as, CRM, finance, academics, communication, collaboration, productivity, e-learning, assessment and asset management.

Arun Solanki founded I-Campusbuddy as a simple and versatile institute management software, ideal for preschools, schools, colleges, universities, training centres and educational institutes. The platform helps institutes integrate disconnected business operations such as student administration, human resources, and financial systems previously handled by disparate legacy systems while satisfying the need for real-time, on-demand information. It offers end-to-end solutions through comprehensive modules, such as CRM, finance, academics, communication, collaboration, productivity, e-learning, assessment and asset management.

I-Campusbuddy also provides access to the right information and functions to all members of the institute community, including administrators, leaders, staff, students and parents. It offers a user-friendly, technologically advanced solution to integrate the institutes’ processes.

Speaking about the fundraising, Founder of I-CampusBuddy, Arun Solanki, said:

Our goal is to make campuses paperless, faceless, cashless by providing academicians and operations team with right information at the right time to reduce repetition and errors, increase productive time for core tasks, and spend less time on operational and administrative concerns. Collaborating with IppoPay will definitely be a step forward in achieving our goal since collection and payments are the most time-consuming areas of operation for any institute. IppoPay’s participation as a strategic investor is greatly appreciated.

I-CampusBuddy has one of the best product suites focused on large educational institutions in the country today driving fees of over Rs.1000 Cr. They will use the funds to expand their product-suite to go deeper beyond enterprises and target smaller schools and education institutions.

Ramprashanth Ganesan, CSO of IppoPay, added:

We see immense potential in Arun’s business. Moreover, it aligns with our goal to provide a verticalized infrastructure product for the EdTech sector. The education payments space is an area we are actively evaluating and seeking to enhance the capabilities of educational institutions by offering ERP and payment collection services to schools and colleges. We predict that demographics and rising affordability will drive consumption in this sector which has been traditionally very close to the heart of Indian families.

Moodle Admins – Update custom course field values easily using this plugin

Moodle Admins - Update custom course field values easily using this plugin
Moodle Admins - Update custom course field values easily using this plugin

Moodle LMS is one of the most customisable and flexible open-source Learning Management system. It is backed by a strong community and a vast collection of contributed Moodle plugins. The LMS can be completely customised to meet the requirements of any industry or company or educational institute.

In Moodle 3.7 version, Moodle HQ team introduced a new feature with support for custom course fields which can be defined globally by the admin and which can then be set on the course settings page of a particular course by teachers and managers. However, setting or changing custom field values for a large number of existing courses manually on each course settings page is a tedious task.

So, if you are also a Moodle administrator and looking for a solution to bulk update the course custom fields, you can use the Set Course Fields Moodle Plugin. The Moodle admin tool plugin allows managers to set and overwrite custom course field values for all courses in a category, including subcategories.

You can download the latest version of the ‘Set Course Fields’ Moodle plugin from this link in official repository. After installing the plugin, it is ready to use without the need for any configuration.

To use the plugin, administrators and users who have the tool/coursefields:setfields will find a new menu item ‘Set course fields’ in the secondary menu of each course category overview page.

Kindly note that this plugin will create an adhoc task in your Moodle LMS to set all the course fields in the background. This requires that cron be enabled. After the next cron run, the course fields of all courses in the given course category are set to their new values.

Texas-Based Recruiting Platform HeadRace Raises $6M in Seed Funding

Texas-Based Recruiting Platform HeadRace Raises $6M in Seed Funding
Texas-Based Recruiting Platform HeadRace Raises $6M in Seed Funding

HeadRace, a Texas-based software company that operates a network for recruiting services, recently announced that it has raised $6 million in seed funding. The round was led by Greylock, Susa Ventures, and Breyer Capital with participation from Packy McCormick, Kindergarten Ventures, and Blue Lion Global.

The startup offers two critical features for employers unique to its platform. First, it is the only technology platform that shows employers’ recruiters’ placement records to give them added confidence that they are working with quality recruiters with vast networks. And second, it helps recruiters collaborate, often lowering the time it takes to fill open roles. HeadRace makes it easier for employers to find qualified and interested candidates to hire in addition to helping independent recruiters grow their earnings.

Co-founded by three early Uber marketplace leaders, Laszlo Korsos, Kevin Brinig, and Amos Barreto, HeadRace is an HRTech company that offers the best opportunities to connect with new customers and earn. Employers who use the platform get access to a network of tenured recruiters via curated recommendations or by posting an opportunity for recruiters to discover.

Speaking about the company, Co-founder & CEO of HeadRace, Laszlo Korsos, said

As an economist, what always struck me about hiring was that the experience and economics were woefully inefficient. Employers are always looking to lower costs on hiring, but they don’t want to sacrifice on quality. We believe there is an opportunity to democratize the hiring process with technology, and that’s why we started HeadRace.

HeadRace has been in private beta for the past few months. During that time, it has helped companies place people in various roles, including COO, CMO, Software Engineer, Account Executive, and Data Scientist. Now that the portal is publicly available, it is expected to revolutionize the recruitment industry by providing employers and recruiters with a more efficient, cost-effective, and user-friendly way to connect with one another.

David Thacker, Partner, Greylock, added:

Employers are frustrated with the recruiting agency model – it is outmoded, broken and expensive. HeadRace offers businesses access to a network of experienced recruiters with proven results, a streamlined product experience, and the power to name their prices.

In addition, HeadRace’s software helps independent recruiters save on overhead costs like legal and payment processing – supporting everything from the retained executive, container, or contingent searches, to even finding new opportunities for amazing final-round candidates.
