UNFI is looking for a Learning & Development Manager Supply Chain & Logistics, to join a team of highly motivated training and development professionals to oversee the instructional design administration and deployment of training and leadership development program content to our associate population within operations with a specific focus on the Supply Chain & Logistics business group. This role will work closely with leaders and associates across the business as well as with peers in the Learning & Development space on both the development and design of training content as well as the deployment of content and programs via our LMS and other appropriate channels.
The Learning & Development Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics, will ensure the consistent transfer of knowledge to all associates and leaders within Supply Chain & Logistics according to UNFI’s key priorities. The Manager of Training Services will collaborate closely with functional business leads to ensure learning materials are relevant, timely, and applicable to their target audience, and will continue to enhance our systems and technology to best support enterprise learning. This role will also work to address business concerns and talent gaps through ongoing measurement and evaluation of programs and course materials.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and designs business-facing training and leadership development content according to business priorities.
- Acts as project manager for the design and deployment of learning initiatives for our partners in Learning & Development.
- Translates business and systems process/procedure into training and compliance content and tailors design approach to the target audiences and learner needs (by function and level)
- Leverages experiential learning best practices (scenario-based learning, storytelling, realistic examples of application, common misunderstanding) to best engage adult learners and ensure successful transfer of knowledge.
- Oversees day-to-day administration as well as enhancements to UNFI’s learning management system as well as other key programs.
- Communicates insights and observations on business needs and talent strengths and opportunities, as well as effectiveness of ongoing learning interventions to functional Learning & Development team.
- Updates, innovates, and maintains our associate-facing presence, creating new development offerings to support the future growth of our associates and business (including our internal SharePoint site and other learning marketing & collateral).
- Maintains strong professional relationships with key stakeholders in across the enterprise to ensure successful transfer of knowledge and upskilling.
- Performs other relevant job duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent working experience
Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in human resources, training, learning and development, talent management or a related role
- Experience developing and designing enterprise training initiatives and programs, including experiential and technical training for varying audiences and learning styles—across modalities (eLearning, virtual and in-person training)
- Strong understanding of adult learning best practices, classroom, modern classroom, online and eLearning
- Passion for people development and interest in innovating learning solutions to drive employee and business results
- Excellent organization and program/project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on instructional design, relationship management, business partnerships and workplace collaboration
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work independently under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Lean6Sigma Green Belt or above
- Experience in a warehouse environment
- Experience with Manhattan based WMS(s)
- Experience with SAE and other warehouse automations
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Experience conducting needs analysis and post-training measurement and evaluation, both qualitative and quantitative (dashboard creation, surveys, focus groups, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience with Articulate360, including Storyline and Rise
- Experience with rapid micro-learning development (videos, clips, gifs and other collateral)
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors learning management system preferred
- Familiarity with innovative learning technologies desirable (virtual training, virtual reality, learning gamification)
Physical Enviornment/Demands:
- Travel requirement: approximately 50% travel nationally and Canada each month
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
