    HKS Dallas is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to join our Talent team.

    Supports project teams using a wide range of professional training, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving to enhance their technical skills. Guides team processes and prioritization to ensure cross-functional deliverables are achieved. Assists in developing, facilitating, and implementing learning, training and development resources and process. Strong written and interpersonal communication with all levels in the organization. Eager to learn, a desire to innovate, highly organized and willing to contribute creatively to the team.

    Responsibilities:
    • Supports Professional and Organizational Development team with instructional design of on-demand, live and hands-on learning courses; dissemination of curriculum programs across the firm; maintenance of curriculum database and training records; maintaining firm’s relationship with the AIA as a Continued Education Provider; building relationships with subject matter experts to support curriculum development; vision- and strategy- setting for firmwide training and education goals
    • Develops training aids including but not limited to presentation materials, handouts, videos
    • Supports the department with developing and facilitating firm-wide training modules with all teams; implementation and maintenance of performance management software; coordination and communication of training schedules for all regions, teams, and offices; coordination and facilitation of leadership programs; vision- and strategy- setting for workforce optimization
    • Maintains accurate attendance and course provider reporting with the American Institute of Architecture (AIA)
    • Curates and creates training programs and curriculum content (including technical education, interpersonal skills, and professional skills) to ensure timely, accessible, and relevant learning content is available for all designers in all stages of their careers
    • Liaises with cross-functional teams and professional/organizational development department to ensure all education and training initiatives are aligned with PD and firm goals
    • Builds relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the firm to contribute to a team reputation of credibility, resourcefulness, and effective problem-solving
    • Assesses and identifies knowledge and skill gaps across the firm
    • Identifies, assesses, solves, and implements process improvements within the Organizational Development team with a continued focus on learner engagement and experience
    • Liaises with Internal Communications to ensure timely and relevant firmwide communication of all firmwide learning opportunities and training events
    • Maintains and updates Professional Development resources and communications on firmwide intranet and supports the maintenance of HKS’s professional development perks and benefits program
    • Supports efforts to effectively implement new initiatives and processes
    • Supports individuals with day-to-day questions and requests regarding training schedules, software access, professional certification, learning, licensure and personal development
    • Acts as an HR representative for the firm as needed, including new hire orientation
    Qualifications:
    Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Psychology or related degree
    • 3+ years of experience in adult learning, training, content development, or related area.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite
    • Experience creating interactive on-demand content
    • Experience in logistics management including connecting people and resources to the right place at the right time
    • Understanding of learning management systems and web delivery tools
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
    • Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
    • Ability to hold sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality
    • Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to problem solve and apply innovative solutions
    • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment, and ability to work independently and prioritize work
    • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
    Preferred
    • Experience with eLearning software (Articulate) preferred
    • Experience in facilitating workshops and coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting
    • Advanced understanding of modern adult learning and development models and best practices
    • Strong presentation skills
