Moodle 4.1 – Check out the new Single view grade report

-

The new Moodle 4.1 is the latest version of Moodle LMS and is packed with exciting User Experience updates. Moodle 4.1 version is the Long Term Support version so many Moodle site administrators might be looking to upgrade to it in coming weeks. In this post, we will have a look at another new feature – Single View report, introduced in Moodle 4.1 which will be handy for the educators.

The new feature introduced in Moodle 4.1 is known as Single View report in Gradebook which offers a simpler and cleaner view of the course students as well as the graded activities. The Single View report allows a course teacher to view either all the grades of one single student or a single grade item for all students. You can search the Single View report by user, group or grade item.

In the Editing mode, you can also take bulk actions like Overriding the grades, Exclude the grades or Inserting grades. The report offers a view to All course activities as well as Course Total grades. Now let’s see how you can use the Single View grade report in Moodle 4.1.

Single View Report

To access the Single View grade report, you need to navigate to Course > Secondary Navigation Bar > Grades. On the left corner, expand the dropdown and select Single View report. You will see a report like below:

You can select Users or Grade Items and the corresponding filters will be automatically updated. For Users, you will see a Search field to Select a specific user and see his/her grades. For Grade Items, you will see a filter to select a grade item (this will show all graded activities as well as the course total grades). You can also take bulk actions from the Actions drop down menu as shown below:

It seems to be a pretty good addition to Moodle with such a handy and cleaner grade report. It will definitely be helpful for Moodle educators to manage their course grades easily.
