Use Moodle Report Builder anywhere using this new plugin from Moodle Workplace

-

Along with Moodle Workplace 4.2 version which was released few days back, Moodle HQ team contributed the Report block to the Moodle LMS plugins directory. The Report block is a pretty handy tools for Moodle administrators. In this post we will see how you can use it on your Moodle site.

The Report block was earlier a part of the Moodle Workplace package which is not available to the Moodle community. The Moodle Workplace package is delivered to the enterprise customers directly through the Moodle partners.  With the release of Moodle Workplace 4.2, the Report block is released as a plugin for the open-source community.

The Report block plugin can be obtained from the Moodle plugins repository here. It allows you to display custom reports created with the ‘Report Builder’ anywhere in Moodle to enhance learning management.

If you are unaware the Report Builder tools in Moodle core allows you to pull different customised reports from the Moodle LMS. With this Report block you can display those reports anywhere in Moodle where you can add a block.

This can be pretty useful to display customized reports for each user like upcoming deadlines in sidebar or recent logged in users with their time. With Report Builder you can pull the data in a report and then display it anywhere using this new block plugin.

The plugin offers a range of display options, including the classic table view for a comprehensive overview. Additionally, it introduces the innovative “Cards” view, which presents your report data in collapsible cells, allowing for an interactive and user-friendly experience. It’s perfect for smaller screens!
