LinkedIn India Launches Campus Knowledge Programme to Make Students Future-Ready

-

LinkedIn, one of the most trusted networks for building connections, enhancing networking opportunities and finding the right career, has announced the launch of the Campus Knowledge Programme in India. This programme aims at connecting students with industry experts to help them launch their careers and be future-ready.

India is one of the youngest countries in the world, where millions of graduates join the workforce every year. The IT industry hired over 3.8 lakh freshers in FY22, following which the workforce share of the Gen Z students went up to nearly 20%. According to LinkedIn’s Workforce Report data, around 37% of the hires on average across industries in 2022 were Gen Z (compared to just 7% in 2018).

As part of the programme, the platform has onboarded 107 expert creators to share their learnings, insights, and inspire students on the platform. They belong to sectors such as edtech, HR, gaming, and public policy and include the likes of Naiyya Saggi, Co-Founder of Good Glamm Group; Alok Kejriwal, Co-founder of Games2win; Supriya Paul, Co-founder of Josh Talks; Nandini Chatterjee, CMO of PwC; and Rashi Goel, Director, Marketing of Amazon; and career coach like Prakash Iyer.

In addition, the programme comprises student creators from 116 colleges across India. To select the campus creators, it has partnered with AIESEC India and sifted through hundreds of applications. And this group is diverse — from engineering to law and from arts to MBA. The two groups – campus creators and experts – will help mobilise the student community to spark conversations on topics that matter to them, the obstacles they face, the career decisions they make and the opportunities they grab.

Commenting on the initiative, the Digital Sales leader of IBM, Deepali Naair, said:

“This programme will provide practical tips, examples and work plan to students. They would get guidance on how to prepare for the next leg of their journey towards a career. This would mean what choices to make and how to execute towards those career choices.

Similarly career coach Sridevi Ravichandran said:

“Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of what employers are seeking in potential candidates, including the skills necessary to succeed in a constantly evolving job market. Additionally, students will benefit from efficient utilization of time and resources, a supportive network of peers and mentors, and increased motivation and engagement in their job search, career development and become future-ready.

Through the next six months, LinkedIn Editorial will support the creators by providing virtual training and continuously offering resources and tips — equipping them to share relevant insights that can help students get started on their professional journey.
