    Job Title: Senior Training Manager

    Location: Onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA (3930 16th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404)

    Job Summary: The Senior Training Manager will have a passion for training and development while excelling in a dynamic environment. Leading enterprise-wide initiatives, this influencer supports CRST’s vision through the development of relevant training curriculum. They will design and match curriculum delivery to business needs, proactively identifying gaps and creating solutions. Managing training programs from individual contributors to executive leadership, the Senior Training Manager, ensure the workforce is equipped to meet and exceed goals.

    Day in the Job Preview: As a Senior Training Manager, your focus includes shaping learning experiences, building and maintaining the Learning Management System (LMS), developing e-learning, and fostering a candidate-centric journey. You take charge of compliance training, organize a resource ‘pantry,’ and coach training admins, ensuring a dynamic and impactful learning culture.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Build relationships and align with stakeholders to design and deliver objective-based development programs focused on addressing high-impact leadership development needs, driving a culture of leadership, people development, and high-performance results.
    • Design, create, develop, and deliver informal and formal learning solutions to meet organizational needs; analyze and select the most appropriate strategy, methodologies, and technologies to maximize the learning experience and impact.
    • Create and maintain program collateral, including program content and information.
    • Develop classroom, webinar, and eLearning content that is easily understood by the intended audience and delivered with credibility and enthusiasm.
    • Present information in a way that is meaningful to the organization; use learning metrics and analytics to inform organizational decision-making, proactively identify gaps, and prioritize work.
    • Apply expertise in coaching, performance management, frontline leadership development training, and instructional design to support the current needs of the greater CRST enterprise, as well as building employee skills to meet/exceed goals.
    • Provide a system of support throughout the organization to foster employee skill development and support career development (e.g., Performance Management training, Performance Review coaching, Management coaching).
    • Apply excellent communication skills, including impromptu speaking, group facilitation skills, and the ability to communicate complex information in an approachable manner.
    • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of learning and development programs to create a culture of continuous development.
    • Travel as required (estimated 25-50%), conducting some training events evenings and weekends as needed to support the audience.

    Job Requirements:

    • Successful completion of a CRST background check and drug screen is required.
    • High school diploma or GED is required.
    • AA or BA in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent work experience in a related field is required.

    Ideal Experience & Skillset:

    • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning.
    • Ability to apply interactive learning methods for in-person and webinar training.
    • Experience with associated skills, including analysis, instructional design, content development, and project management.
    • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent cross-functional projects and initiatives; comfortable managing work through ambiguity, demonstrating flexibility and attention to detail.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Possess 5-10 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing general, supervisory, and/or technical training programs.
    • Expertise in determining, analyzing, and reporting learning and organizational development metrics is preferred.
