    This is a remote position that will require some travel.

    Role Summary

    The Senior Training and Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining curricula and programs used to train employees in a variety of functions by conducting needs assessments, selection of relevant instructional approach, and design of instructional content. The scope of responsibilities also includes curation of materials in consultation with subject matter experts (SME) for standard to moderately complex software applications used by our engineering community to develop aerospace product deliverables.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Establish learning plans for areas such as DevSecOps, software config management, and other internally developed applications and services
    • Curate content and teach experts how to generate and share content by collaborating with peers, and SMEs to design and build learning initiatives
    • Facilitate, deliver, and provide training to support learning projects including “train the trainer”
    • Design and develop in-person and eLearning courses, instructor-led training programs, and video learning
    • Update training plans, course maintenance, and process documentation for existing curricula
    • Manage status of projects, milestones, and tasks in the team project tracking tool
    • Ensure instructional programs are effectively implemented, evaluates content, and adjusts as required
    • Maintain a facilitative approach, listening for both passive and active feedback and iterating based on that feedback for continuous improvement

     

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

    • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
    • A design mindset that can produce a clean-sheet product
    • Experience engaging with a technical audience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience in learning technologies, design, and facilitating in a virtual environment
    • Experience working with a Learning Management Systems
    • Capability working in Microsoft O365 including SharePoint
    • Ability to translate solutions into viable action plans and content
    • Understanding of Individual and Organizational Change Management
    • Ability to travel up to 10% within the United States

     

    Preferred qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in software product training
    • Proficient with eLearning development software such as Storyline 360 or Camtasia
    • Experience working within an ALM tool suite such as Confluence and JIRA
    • Knowledge of the software development life cycle, DevOps, and cloud native technologies
    • Curriculum development experience using a well-defined instructional design system (e.g. ADDIE or SAM)

    The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD – 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
