Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for the overall administration and maintenance of the Learning Management System, ensuring its optimal functionality and effectiveness in delivering training programs. The LMS Administrator will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify learning needs, develop and implement learning solutions, and evaluate the impact of training initiatives.
LMS Administrator responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as the Learning Management System (LMS) Super User and the in-house LMS expert
- Stay current on LMS updates and features, recommending enhancement as needed
- Provide valuable insights that enhance the learning experience for all users
- Manage implementation and upkeep of training curriculum for user groups across the organization
- Drive improvements to content, performance and functionality of the LMS
- Create eLearning courses, craft learning paths and manage user permissions
- Prepare eLearning materials for a variety of learning and development programs
- Maintain and upload course content, ensuring accuracy and relevance
- Review, create and improve training materials and assessments
- Maintain accurate training records; generate reports on learner progress, course completion and system usage
- Manage and maintain integrity of training and training records within the LMS and HRIS systems
- Collaborate with managers and leadership to identify and develop new learning opportunities for employees to assist with their growth and enhancement of knowledge and skills
- Investigate training system concerns and solve them in a timely manner
- Prepare summary assessments for management to assist in identifying learning gaps and inefficiencies in existing processes and programs
- Adapt training methods and instructional material to meet learner’s varying learning styles
Qu al ifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associates degree or equivalent education plus relevant work experience
- 3+ years’ related experience in Learning Management System
- Previous experience implementing and maintaining Learning Management Systems
- Experience in instructional design a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of various teaching methods and approaches
- Must have strong technical acumen
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; including the ability to meet ongoing responsibilities even while shifting priorities as new information or situations arise.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, along with strong presentation and facilitation skills, to include large groups and virtual environments
- Ability to investigate training system concerns and solve them in a timely manner
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing unmatched customer service in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment; including cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
