    The Learning Solutions Designer fosters a learning culture by developing learning experiences and solutions, making professional growth and organizational transformation possible. In addition, this role is responsible for designing engaging and innovative learning materials for internal team members and external partners. This role adds value by consulting with subject matter experts to relay vital information to their training audience. Managing and continuously progressing on multiple projects simultaneously is crucial to this role’s success.

    • Support Instructional Design & Learning Systems
      • Designs learner-centric self-paced, facilitator-led, and blended learning content and performance support tools to improve the engagement, performance, mobility, and retention of talent across the enterprise within project deliverable timelines.
      • Champions ADDIE instructional design model to develop storyboards, prototyping, scripts, video, audio, and resources to meet training analysis outcomes in alignment with Hormel Foods instructional design processes and are accessible through the enterprise learning technology stack/ecosystem.
      • Deploys and assigns development opportunities in the learning management system (LMS) and evaluates them after deployment.
      • Applies knowledge of AICC HACP, SCORM, xAPI, and cmi5 eLearning standards to troubleshoot complex technical challenges with courses.
      • Serves as virtual facilitator-led meeting producer for talent development-related opportunities.
      • Manages learning management system functional design and maintenance, including validation, enhancements, defects, maintaining test scripts, and quick reference guides.
    • Coordinate Talent Development Functional Programs
      • Communicates program opportunities through multiple talent development and corporate communication systems.
      • Monitors systems to investigate and address internal customer requests.
      • Serves as a backup for facilitator-led learning management system requests.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required

    • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/certifications and 2-5 years of professional instructional technology experience while in a training specialist or similar role.
    • Designing and developing instructional content.
    • Administering an LMS.
    • Highly effective organizational and communication skills (listening, speaking, writing, and editing).
    • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time independently.
    • Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness by taking the initiative and being adaptable, creative, patient, and persistent.
    • Familiarity and application of adult learning theory in development opportunities.
    • Intermediate-level proficiency in eLearning authoring tools such as Elucidat, Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar tools.
    • Intermediate-level proficiency in virtual meeting and production tools such as Microsoft Teams, Adobe Connect, Zoom, GoToWebinar, or similar tools.
    • Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.

    Preferred

    • Highly effective and engaging training facilitation skills.
    • Deep understanding of adult learning theory and application.
    • Ability to apply accessibility guidelines and design best practices to create inclusive and accessible learning for all audiences.
    • Intermediate-level proficiency in graphic design software tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or other similar tools.
    • Experience editing video with software such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, or similar tools.
    • Experience editing audio with software such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or similar tools.
    • Incorporating Extended Reality technology into learning opportunities.
    • Utilizing artificial intelligence to augment learning content generation.
