    The Learning Experience Designer (LXD) is responsible for leading the design and development of eLearning experiences for the K-12 education market. This role will support Lexia’s professional learning products to support effective literacy instructional practices for educators. The LXD will work with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to identify learner needs, develop learning objectives, and ensure that the content (either original or adapted) supports those objectives.
    Job Responsibilities:
    • Advocate for and prioritize learning solutions that can be rapidly developed and deployed, contribute to business outcomes, and maintain a quality learner experience.
    • Scrutinize and evaluate existing learning solutions to ensure that they align to established design standards and address evolving needs.
    • Operate within an agile system with many competing deadlines and priorities.
    • Serve on a cross-functional team responsible for the end-to-end design and development of continuous learning solutions for Lexia Professional Learning
    • Apply adult learning theory, Universal Design for Learning, and human-centered learning to the design process.
    • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, writers, and other stakeholders to identify learning opportunities that address learner development and customer demand.
    • Design and develop engaging and effective learning experiences using audio, visual, and multimedia assets.
    • Create detailed outlines, storyboards, and other design documentation at each stage of the development process.
    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to resolve issues and ensure courses are grounded in the product vision and course objectives.
    • Use Backward Design to identify learner outcomes (e.g., knowledge, understanding, skills) and develop learning objectives accordingly.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders on the requirements gathering, design planning and development of key projects as assigned.
    • Review and analyze product resources for clarity, consistency, instructional soundness, and alignment to product vision; use this information and customer feedback to inform iteration and continuous improvement.
    Job Requirements:
    • 3+ years of professional instructional design experience.
    • Understanding of instructional andragogy and learning behavior.
    • Solid understanding of professional learning and learning design best practices.
    • Strong oral and written communication.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills: strong attention to detail and ability to complete multiple priorities within specified deadlines.
    • Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach to teamwork
    • Strong portfolio of recent instructional design work.
    • Experience in instructional design/learning experience design within the Ed Tech space (preferably in K-12).
    • Background in behavior analysis in relation to improving learning outcomes.
