    Position Overview:

    The Learning & Development Specialist will create effective and engaging learning solutions that support business needs. The Learning & Development Specialist will also work with department leaders and subject matter experts to plan, design, create, and implement learning solutions that support business and training needs. This role will also include administrative responsibilities as they relate to our Learning Management System (LMS).

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop learning modules, learning paths, instructor guides, job aids, and support materials using a variety of instructions techniques.
    • Write, edit, and proofread technical documentation.
    • Interact with internal department leaders and subject matter experts to gather information and define learning goals and objectives for the intended audience of a learning solution.
    • Define project timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously; keep track of project tasks and statuses.
    • Communicate regularly with internal departments when new documents and document revisions are available.
    • Design the concept of a learning solution, including the course medium, content delivery, assessments, and accompanying materials.
    • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to train Operations Trainers on how to implement new learning solutions.
    • Create evaluations to meaningfully measure course interactions, learning retention, and long-term performance impacts.
    • Manage tasks in the Learning Management System, including creating and uploading of courses to LMS, troubleshooting technical LMS issues, producing and distributing reports, and managing users and access.
    • Write, edit, and/or proofread technical documentation such as Standard Operations Procedures.
    • Process workflows for new or updated products, investor guidelines, compliance requirements, system enhancements, and any new or updated processes.
    • Manage the technical documentation process including intake for new documentation needs, revisions for existing document, and communicating to key stakeholders when new or updated content is available.
    • Manage documentation in a central content management location.
    • Work closely with Senior Project Management and Executive Management to prioritize technical documentation needs according to business priorities.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in technical communication, instructional design, journalism, or related field.
    • 3-5 years of instructional design and or training experience.
    • Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design methods.
    • Excellent interpersonal, visual, oral, and written communication skills.
    • Proficient analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong project management and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    • Experience creating eLearning modules.
    • Ability to create and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, subject matter experts, and all levels of management across the organization.
    • Availability to travel to affiliate locations as necessary.
    • Experience developing and conducting instructor-led training both live and virtually.
    • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
    • Familiarity and working experience in a mortgage or financial industry.
