The purpose of the role of Learning and Development Manager is to develop learning and organizational development solutions in support of business objectives. This includes the successful development and delivery of internal training programs, creation of organizational development initiatives, change management, and driving effective standardization and alignment across the organization. Collaboration across the organization will be critical to proactively identify opportunities to leverage learning to improve business processes, increase skills, optimize performance, and leadership competencies.
This role will identify and monitor training and organizational development needs across QSC, and design, plan, and implement learning solutions to fulfill those needs. This dynamic role involves equal parts curriculum development and facilitation with some project management. This individual will also support various aspects of employee engagement including: performance management, career development and other organizational development initiatives.
The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities:

Training and Employee Development: Develop and deploy learning experiences that align with QSC’s company-wide talent development needs.
  • Partner with Human Resources and other departments to identify organizational and employee development needs and work collaboratively to support a program of continuous organizational performance improvement, for example: management development, engagement trainings, change management, etc.
  • Design, develop and implement programs and solutions tailored to meet the identified organizational development needs and support the achievement of overall business objectives
  • Plan, organizes, and facilitate employee development and training events.
  • Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
  • Research and recommend approaches, tools and communications to drive learning and development initiatives across the organization.
  • Practice effective project management skills in leading multiple program initiatives.
  • Conduct/facilitate training sessions.
  • Train and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Develop and maintain organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Serve as a credible and trusted advisor on effective, leading-edge learning and development strategies to achieve business results.
  • Utilize external resources such as LinkedIn Learning to support training initiatives.
Organizational Development: Identify opportunities to leverage learning to improve business processes, increase skills, optimize performance and leadership competencies across QSC.
  • Deliver custom development and training around team/organizational effectiveness solutions based on business needs and requests.
  • Facilitate and improve the effectiveness of key processes related to goal-setting, employee development, performance management, etc. and drive outcomes from these processes to deliver on organizational objectives.
  • Identify trends and take initiative to provide insight on organizational health opportunities to both area leadership and Human Resource Partners; provide support and accountability to bridge those opportunities.
  • Work closely with HR Partners to provide internal consulting and organizational development services to departments, including group facilitation, team building, identification of training and coaching opportunities, etc.
  • Work with employees and their managers to create employee development plans, and sets performance metrics, and evaluates progress and productivity.
Manage the Learning Management System and eLearning solutions.
  • Project manage the deployment of a new Learning Management System through requirements definition, maximizing functionality, uploading new content.
  • Manage the implementation of role based learning paths, and assignment to learner roles.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of eLearning content, including learning assets, evaluations, and assessments.
  • Work with other internal teams to fine-tune the online training strategy for various roles across QSC.
  • Create blended learning experiences to meet QSC’s most pressing internal learning and development needs.
  • Create an efficient and engaging LMS dashboard, design and set up courses and learning modules, and enhance to ensure an excellent user experience.
  • Use SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and other platforms to design and manage internal communications and learning for our associates worldwide.
Measurement, collection, analysis and reporting of learning and development efforts
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of employee performance measurements to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop, implement and maintain methods for evaluating and monitoring program performance.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvements to L&D programs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree a plus
  • Relevant licenses/certifications desired (i.e., personality/behavioral assessments, training & development, coaching, human resources, etc.)
  • 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in talent development, learning, or organizational development, preferably in high-growth environments
  • Background in company-wide program development, including experience in instructional design and group training/ facilitation
  • Strong knowledge and experience in talent and organizational development – firm grasp of how they impact company performance
  • Consulting to assess, recommend, and implement talent management solutions that align with the business objectives.
  • Experience working with a learning management system (LMS)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated success building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships
  • Exercises good judgment and maintains strict confidentiality
  • A team player with the ability and willingness to pitch in as needed in areas outside one’s own core expertise
  • Proven ability to use a consultative approach and persuasive communication with stakeholders
  • Communicating effectively and tactfully with all levels of management.
  • Developing effective relationships with business partners and human resources partners.
  • Influencing others and outcomes.
