The Learning and Development Business Partner (LDBP) will align with employees and management in designated business units to establish strategic and tactical direction for all training initiatives. The LDBP serves as a consultant to design, develop and deploy structured training curriculums and work with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to identify and source appropriate content that supports and improves organizational productivity and efficiency.
Will act as employee champion and change agent. LDBP assesses and anticipates learning-related needs. The LDBP maintains an effective level of business acumen about the business units objectives, Bold Steps/Strategic Areas of Focus, the CUofCO culture and the future vision of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. May perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Works with business unit leaders and People Experience Business Partners (PXBPs) to understand root cause of employee performance problems and creates and administers appropriate solutions. Delivers a variety of classroom, and web-based training events related to leadership methods and practices consistent with the organizational culture.
- Develops and conducts product, soft skills, and management/leadership development courses.
- Works with business unit leaders and people team peers to create and administer competency assessments related to our talent management.
- Works to establish career pathing model for the organization using both eLearning and instructor lead training
- Conducts needs assessments and assess effectiveness of training.
- Coaches and reinforces employee and leadership learning.
- Oversees the internal mentorship program
- Maintains a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices and brings forward to improve CU methods
- Understands the talent within the organization and creates strategies for developing employee and leadership potential. Contributes to talent assessment/succession planning.
- Understands business needs and helps drive key L&D initiatives
- Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from an accredited four (4) year college or university, plus five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters Degree (MA) in Instructional Design, Psychology, Organizational Development, Education or other related degree preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of training/facilitation experience in leadership and interpersonal skill building. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and application, instructional design, evaluation, competency modeling, and learning assessment. Strong project management skills. Ability to consult and advise in areas of expertise. Demonstrated relationship building and influencing skills. Excellent written, verbal and presentations skills to various audience types. Certifications in personality profiles, coaching, 360 assessments or CPLP a plus. Relevant financial service industry experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite and other learning management tools such as LMS, authoring tools, such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to sit for long periods. The employee continually is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
