The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking an experienced Technical Training Engineer to join our Enterprise Integration team. Enterprise Integration (EI) is a fast-paced and highly visible organization that ensures NNL is positioned for long-term growth and success by providing support services at the employee and leadership/corporate levels. Technical Training Services’ products and services directly support employee technical development and corporate knowledge management.
The successful candidate will participate as a member of a cross-site team responsible for developing and implementing NNL technical training, including the Technical Training Curriculum (TTC) Program, that supports the engineering and science communities. Primary responsibilities are focused on animation/eLearning development and instructional design. Additional responsibilities include administering current technical training curriculum (HERITAGE, TTC-2, etc.), determining laboratory technical training needs, creating and implementing new course offerings to support future design and technology developments, and assessing the impact of the technical training. This position will require interfacing across multiple business areas.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an education, technical, engineering or science related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in an education, technical, engineering or science related field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills
- Graphic design experience with emphasis on Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience with 3-D modeling/animation (e.g. MAYA, Blender, etc.)
- Experience with eLearning platforms (e.g. Articulate, Captivate, Presenter, etc.)
- Experience in developing and/or delivering computer-based training
- Effective teaming and interpersonal skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail

Pay Range

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
