Essential Duties
- Leads the design and development of engaging, interactive and instructionally-sound professional education programs and learning materials, including content application or assessments, aligned with learning/performance outcomes and program goals in collaboration with faculty and/or other subject matter experts.
- Develops workplace professional development programs based on client requests, needs or gap analysis, and existing resources or programs review.
- Determines desired program outcomes and delivery modalities in consultation with clients.
- Consults with faculty and/or subject matter experts to design and develop program structure and content.
- Assists with webinar development and coordination. Assists with Canvas (LMS) course builds and deployment. Manages course/program development from concept to implementation to completion.
- Provides troubleshooting, technology, documentation, event information and educational design consultation support to faculty and subject matter experts.
- Assists in leading the development and maintenance of resources such as tutorials, reference material, design standards, content resources, templates, and tools for instructional development.
- Remains current on adult learning practices and instructional technologies for virtual delivery and incorporates these into course development. Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
- Knowledge of continuing and professional education/development instructional design and andragogical approaches, practices, and tools for diverse workplace audiences/environments.
- Knowledge of elearning development programs.
- Skill in using learning management systems.
- Ability to model effective organization and time-management in an environment with multiple priorities and short deadlines.
- Skill in verbal and written professional communication for faculty, client, vendor, colleague, and team interactions.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Ability to provide coaching and critical feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Five (5) years of providing learning/instructional design and/or technology development services. Or, any equivalent combination of experience or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of a Masters degree in Training and Development, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Experience in providing continuing professional development services including: program creation, needs assessment, curriculum design, materials development, program coordination or management, training delivery in-person or virtual, consulting support for training requests, program management/administration, and program evaluation. (8 years)
- Experience in designing programs in Articulate Rise and/or Storyline
- Experience in writing scripts for educational videos
- Experience with storyboarding for educational videos or online learning
- Experience in coordinating and/or conducting workplace training programs for multiple levels of employees
- Experience in working with subject matter experts and faculty to convert for-credit curriculum and content into non-academic or professional development curriculum and content
- Experience working with subject matter experts and faculty to identify knowledge and/or skill and content needs for workplace application
- Experience with project manager, managing the workflow of the entire online course development cycle
- Experience in reviewing content developed by other contributors and adapting it for program needs/purpose
- Experience in webinar hosting and/or delivery
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse (65%)
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time, and walk moderate distances to perform work (25%).
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%).
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions of the job.
- Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
