Website Management Concepts
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and updating content with a focus on learning experiences to address company and client needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Be able to articulate and lead the instructional design process
Be the teammate everyone wants on their team
Mentor and coach other instructional designers
Bring moxie and verve to the table
Create memorable learning events that are sustainable
Be a learning advisor to our customers both internal and external
Update and revise products as necessary to maintain currency
Design and develop content and learning experiences for a variety of audiences and delivery methods including instructor led and digital delivery
Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Manage Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop learning content
Identify changes in regulatory guidance, industry standards, and applicable external benchmarks and how they impact course materials
Develop technical solutions for client requests for information and proposals
Consult with clients during the course development process
Participate in train the trainer sessions to introduce stakeholders to course content
Be able to articulate what the learner’s (customer) experience means to you as a designer
Be able to articulate what constitutes a quality learning product
Be a problem solver not a problem creator
Challenge the status quo
Invest in your own professional development
Share information about new learning approaches and changes in the industry

Necessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and application of instructional design industry standards and best practices
Knowledge and application of adult learning theory
Experience leading instructional design teams and projects
Experience developing content for different modalities (e.g., instructor-led, elearning, virtual training)
Strong technical and creative writing skills
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills
Creative problem solving skills
Organizational and planning skills
Ability to work independently or with little direction, when required
Experience consulting with clients (internal or external) to understand needs and development goals
Strong computer skills, including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat
Knowledge of web conferencing platform and digital authoring tools a plus
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s with specialization in instructional design, adult education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
Formal training in instructional design required
2-4 years of experience designing and developing participant-centered, applied learning solutions
Experience using learning technology tools and applications a plus.
