Instructional Designer (Part-Time)

Job Type: Part Time: Up to 25 hours per week hybrid position

General Summary
The Instructional designer will provide faculty the strategies needed to implement best practices for teaching online, blended, and face-to-face course formats using technology. This individual will assist in the development and delivery of web-based and face-to-face professional development programs and support effective uses of technology in all modes of instruction.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day management and support of the learning management system (Canvas).
- Deliver scheduled or just-in-time training sessions for faculty, staff, and students in support of eLearning and academic technologies.
- Support faculty through individualized consultation.
- Work with the Director of eLearning in identifying, creating, and implementing new eLearning opportunities.
- Facilitate the implementation of the design standards, procedures and pedagogical practices that apply to Fontbonne eLearning courses and programs to be followed by department chairs, college deans and faculty.
- Work with the Director of eLearning to provide training and mentoring opportunities for faculty integrating technology into their curriculum.
- Co-manage work-study students working in the Center for Educational and Emerging Technology.
- Assist students in creating multimedia projects.

Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor’s degree, supplemented with five years of experience in related roles across educational industries: teaching, instructional technology, instructional design, online program management, faculty development. Has experience integrating technology in the learning process.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Master’s degree and instructional design, educational technology, or related area from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Demonstrated experience with a learning management system.
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of instructional techniques.
- Experience with Quality Matters or another nationally recognized process for quality assurance for online education and student learning.
