    Job Type: Part Time: Up to 25 hours per week hybrid position
    Benefits: Position is only eligible for participation in 403(b) Retirement plan with matching contributions. No insurance benefits are earned in this role.
    General Summary
    The Instructional designer will provide faculty the strategies needed to implement best practices for teaching online, blended, and face-to-face course formats using technology. This individual will assist in the development and delivery of web-based and face-to-face professional development programs and support effective uses of technology in all modes of instruction.
    Responsibilities
    • Assist in the day-to-day management and support of the learning management system (Canvas).
    • Deliver scheduled or just-in-time training sessions for faculty, staff, and students in support of eLearning and academic technologies.
    • Support faculty through individualized consultation.
    • Work with the Director of eLearning in identifying, creating, and implementing new eLearning opportunities.
    • Facilitate the implementation of the design standards, procedures and pedagogical practices that apply to Fontbonne eLearning courses and programs to be followed by department chairs, college deans and faculty.
    • Work with the Director of eLearning to provide training and mentoring opportunities for faculty integrating technology into their curriculum.
    • Co-manage work-study students working in the Center for Educational and Emerging Technology.
    • Assist students in creating multimedia projects.

    Qualifications (Required)
    Bachelor’s degree, supplemented with five years of experience in related roles across educational industries: teaching, instructional technology, instructional design, online program management, faculty development. Has experience integrating technology in the learning process.
    Qualifications (Preferred)
    • Master’s degree and instructional design, educational technology, or related area from an accredited institution of higher learning.
    • Demonstrated experience with a learning management system.
    • Knowledge and experience with a variety of instructional techniques.
    • Experience with Quality Matters or another nationally recognized process for quality assurance for online education and student learning.
