The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Netspend’s Customer Service training content. This candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and/or revising facilitator guides, learning material, interactive activities, eLearning modules, and assessments. The Instructional Designer will work closely with the ID and Communications manager and team, as well as project managers, trainers, vendors, and SMEs to ensure that all content meets training requirements and achieves business goals.
It is a very fast-paced and demanding environment, so this candidate must be able to work under pressure, stay positive with a focused optimism, make decisions based on the principle of the power in a cohesive and supportive team (which at times it may mean a temporary period of relatively higher workload), work in synch with diverse and dedicated team members, and so successfully join a unit of Training & Implementation professionals.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the other Instructional Designers and Knowledge Base Admin to streamline training and knowledge base communications
- Apply the principles of Adult Learning Theory, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Kirkpatrick’s levels of evaluation to the design of all training materials
- Design, develop and/or edit facilitator guides, training materials, activities, and eLearning modules
- Assess and improve extensive training content for both ILT and WBT
- Create and/or edit graphics and/or photographs for training materials
- Be able to concisely and professionally write content for a specific target audience
- Understand the review cycle of content development and be receptive to constructive feedback that results in changing the content presented in the review session
- Work with a collaborative mindset and must be able to express perspectives and support opinions in the content development meetings so that the team can engage, at the time of need, in a constructive dialogue
- Stay abreast of current trends and innovation within the Instructional Design field
- Create effective knowledge checks and assessments
- Ability to convert different type of content with inconsistent depth and detail of information sheets that pertain to the content which must be converted into organized and consistently designed training deliverables
- Write and record scripts for the narration of e-Learning modules
- Manage multiple training projects with overlapping timelines with a strict adherence to deadlines
- Ability to work with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Belief in and dedication to continuous professional improvement in the knowledge and skills of content development
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience); training in Adult Education and Learning Technology is desired
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in contact center curriculum development
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Expert using Word, Excel, Captivate/Articulate Storyline, and Photoshop/Photo Editing software
- Experience applying the principles of Adult Learning Theory, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Learning Styles; experience with training in a classroom environment preferred
- Experience working with SCORM and learning management systems
- Provide sample work if requested for an interview
- Quick learner with the ability to work with minimal supervision in fast-paced environment.
