    The Instructional Designer will support the leadership team in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review, and evaluation of the Care Management curriculum at Coordinated Care Alliance of New York.

    The Instructional Designer will support the organizations’ mission and services by providing technical support in the design (review, research, development) and delivery of the training curriculum via the training Institute. The position will support the enhancement and development of I/DD workforce programs that address the needs of the future within a climate that emphasizes learning and creativity using the key elements of adult learning theory. Ensures that the curriculum includes the best and most appropriate delivery designs (instructor-led, eLearning and in person training delivered by experienced facilitators).

    The Instructional Designer will report to the Director of Instructional Design and will collaborate closely with curriculum design experts and agency trainers, who promote the organizations’ mission and services by providing leadership and exceptional training to the care management team via the training Institute.

    Coordinated Care Alliance of New York (CCA/NY) a Management Service Organization is the parent company of two agencies, Advance Care Alliance of NY (ACA/NY) and LIFEPlan COO of NY. Both ACA/NY and LIFEPlan have been designated as Care Coordination Organizations/Health Homes (CCOs) by New York State. A CCO (Care Coordination Organization) is a Health Home dedicated to meeting the needs of people with I/DD by providing comprehensive care management and coordination of services. Through CCA/NY, the organizations serve a combined 44,000 members throughout 45 counties in NY State. They share a mission to provide quality services and enhanced advocacy statewide for individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and their families.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the leadership of Learning and Development to develop action plans and work plans, to achieve strategic initiatives.
    • At the direction of Director of Instructional Design, collaborate with other internal or external experts in the in the design of a new training curriculum and methodology including assessment, design, development, evaluation for the purpose of implementing professional development program to address training needs, using principles of adult learning theory.
    • Directly or in collaboration with other internal/external experts, ensure the appropriateness, clarity, accuracy of content and ways to integrate technology in delivery.
    • Participate in strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for curriculum development and regularly review and update instructional and curriculum materials on a consistent basis to ensure they accurately reflect the regulatory requirements set by CCA/NY and other governing bodies.
    • Receive and incorporate feedback into course materials from L&D leadership, SMS, course instructors and participants.
    • Make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options.
    • Represent CCA/NY in meetings and conferences related curriculum and instruction, assessment, and technology.
    • Participate in the development of measurement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction or training interventions.
    • Train instructors how to use learning technologies
    • Keep current on best practices in instructional design
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education plus four years’ similar or related experience -OR- Master’s degree in Education plus two years’ similar or related experience
    • Primary coursework focus in Curriculum/Instruction preferred
    • Understanding of Learning Models and best practices for content delivery for adult learners

    Work Environment
    This position, in accord with business necessity, may operate in-person at an ACA/NY hub or at other sites, in addition to remotely. Travel to off-site locations required; therefore, the incumbent must be comfortable driving or using various forms of public transportation to reach destinations.
