    Where You Will Work

    Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you will collaborate primarily virtually anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded based on business factors. Occasionally, you may be required to attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

    Description

    Under minimal supervision, work with Subject Matter Experts and external vendors at the Mine Training Institute to design and develop curriculum utilizing current learning theories and educational technologies.
    • Work closely with instructors and management to develop effective and engaging adult learning opportunities for current and newly-hired employees
    • In collaboration with other instructional design and development team members, design and develop instruction and other learning solutions that prepare employees with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to support Freeport-McMoRan’s safe production goals
    • Assist in the implementation of a range of instructional technologies, including learning management systems, content management systems, mobile devices and classroom technologies
    • May support the evaluation of individual classroom modules and courses, as well as instructional programs, within an established evaluation framework
    • May develop visually-based demonstration and simulation components of learning materials using video and 3D modeling
    • Design and process various levels of assessment and evaluation
    • Use systematic workflow processes associated with Learning Content Management and Digital Assets Management Systems
    • May participate in the classroom by guiding and teaching instructors and subject matter experts about workplace learning theories, new technologies and job aides
    • May present topics of interest at regular and ad hoc team meetings and present project updates at curriculum review meetings
    • Evaluate 3rd party content for instructional soundness and appropriateness for inclusion in Freeport-McMoRan’s curricula
    • May develop or contribute to instructional design documents, Student Guides, Facilitator’s Guides, presentations, job aides
    • Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional/Curriculum Design or related fieldand three (3) years of experience in face-to-face, on-line and/or blended learning design and development, OR
    • High School diploma or equivalentand seven (7) years of experience in adult learning, curriculum design and development and face-to-face, on-line and/or blended learning design and development
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
    • Knowledge of current learning and development models
    • Familiarity with a range of educational technologies and their application
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and Learning and Content Management Systems
    • Demonstrated strong teamwork and collaboration skills

     


    Preferred

     

    • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Multi-media Design and Development or related field
    • Experience managing training projects
    • Experience with various course design methodologies and learning evaluation tools
    • Experience assessing needs, designing, developing, delivering and evaluating learning and education methods in a mining environment
    • ASTD or Langevin Instructional Systems Design Certifications in eLearning Design and Development and/or Multi-Media Designand Development
    • Knowledge of and/or ability to develop eLearning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline
    • Proven ability to create/design multi-media interaction and demonstration materials as demonstrated by a portfolio review of video, 2D graphics, and/or 3D simulation
    • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, Learning Content Management Systems, and Digital Assets Management with the ability to systematically manage digital assets

     


    Criteria/Conditions
    • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
    • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
    • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
    • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

    What We Offer You

    The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $62,000-$85,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
