    Role Summary:

    We are looking for an Instructional Designer who can design, develop, and deliver regular, high quality, mixed media field training elements to drive knowledge, efficiency, and productivity in a growing organization. You will work directly with the Manager of Global Field Enablement (GFE) Learning Experience and Design, and other GFE Enablement Leaders to create and maintain Technical Sales Enablement Content as well as collaborate with other Sales Stakeholders and Leaders.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with the GFE GPM and various constituencies to define and develop a technical seller training program that leverages existing GFE developed training content and learning paths
    • Update existing GFE training, assets, and content
    • Work with the partner team to understand business requirements and challenges and translate into potential solutions for prioritization
    • Become familiar with the architecture and UX of the partner LMS and assist in administering, supporting and troubleshooting the platform
    • Be the voice of the sales engineer/ technical seller in all content planning, delivery and design, ensuring content is built and delivered in a manner that supports the SE performing their function.
    • Integrate critical technical sales skills (presentation, demo, proof-of-concept, whiteboarding, value/outcome-based selling) into curriculum.
    • Support the evolution of core sales engineering curricula by reviewing and evaluating for content design and delivery optimization.
    • Develop strategies that allow for greater leverage of content across selling roles through smart design.
    • Be a trusted advisor and partner to technical sales team members and SMEs.
    • Support the development and maintenance of Technical Seller Accreditations
    • Support the GFE LEAD Team with related design and development as needed:
    • Query product and messaging experts and create learning design documents
    • Leverage SME expertise across technical sales, marketing, legal, product management, engineering, human resources, field experts, executive staff and other functions in addition to sales roles to deliver high value, learning experiences and training
    • Develop and maintain content for learning programs, paths and certifications
    • Build and maintain Enablement, videos and classroom content that may be used in knowledge validation (through accreditation testing and assessment mechanisms)
    • Edit, maintain, and improve design for infographics, instruction guides, and webpages
    • Develop curriculums for worldwide individual contributors, management and partners; assemble content that contributes to faster ramping of employees and differentiates Splunk
    • Create test questions, evaluations, and practical assessments on content in each curriculum
    • Use innovative techniques and creative delivery mechanisms to reach a dispersed, global field organization; adopt new technologies as they become practical

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years in an Instructional Designer or equivalent role
    • Experience with designing and developing Technical seller Enablement Programs
    • Experience with Sales and Technical Enablement
    • Has experience and a portfolio of Learning Experience and instructional design.
    • Curriculum, E-learning and/or video work design examples (please be prepared to send examples)
    • Moderate to advanced understanding of modern IT, Cloud, and IT Security architecture
    • Extensive experience creating virtual, classroom-based, and online e-learning courses
    • Good understanding of the typical tasks performed by a sales engineer/technical seller and in developing differentiated content for this selling role.
    • Comfort and experience using technical tools, systems and products to ensure the technical aspects of sales process are reflected in curriculum.
    • Experience in the Sales Engineering role with a SaaS offering a very strong plus.
    • Experienced in providing voice-over recordings for eLearning
    • Familiar with Web development (Adobe Experience Manager)
    • Familiar sales enablement and LMS technology, particularly the MindTickle Platform
    • Strong visual and graphic design skills (can perform intermediate-level graphic design and image editing using Adobe Creative Suite)
    • Experience developing videos and multi-media presentations (using PowerPoint, video software such as Camtasia, and e-learning software such as Articulate Storyline)
    • A strong background in SME customer service, with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form successful relationships and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization
    • Strong documentation, writing, and test creation skills
    • Ability to simplify complex information into an easy-to-understand format
    • Ability to establish, communicate and maintain documentation standards
    • Effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, accept feedback from collaborators, and work across functional teams – internally and externally, in-person and virtually
    • Dynamic and engaging style with excellent written and verbal communication
    • Understands nuances around global cultural differences
    • High energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the business
    • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay flexible through growth and change

    Base Pay Range

    SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

    Base Pay Range: $132,000.00 – 181,500.00 per year

    California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

    Base Pay Range: $118,800.00 – 163,350.00 per year

    All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

    Base Pay Range: $105,600.00 – 145,200.00 per year

    Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
