The Instructional Designer is responsible for the development and maintenance of Mill Creek Residential education courseware under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Learning and Development. Courseware includes online learning modules in addition to live web-based and instructor-led training sessions. This associate will also create courseware support material including, but not limited to, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and job aids.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Assist or coordinate needs assessments by interfacing with internal teams and Subject Matter Experts to identify training needs.

Design and develop learning courses and training materials that are engaging, activity-based, and results-oriented.

Develop recommendations for instructional and/or performance strategies.

Develop course outlines for various delivery methods.

Work with Subject Matter Experts to ensure the accuracy of material.

Manage and coordinate projects and training activities to completion.

Assist in assessing the quality and adoption of training material.

Design appropriate interactivity for the courseware and delivery method.

Review and revise training materials created by others.

Research developments in the training industry including presentation aids, equipment, presentation techniques, adult learning methodology and related topics.

Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the SVP of Learning and Development
Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
-
Proven knowledge and experience with Captivate for eLearning course development.

Intermediate Excel, Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Snagit (or other screen capture) skills.

Experience with Workday Learning, preferred.

Strength in both classroom and online training delivery methods.

Ability to travel to other MCR offices and communities

Strength in communicating technical information in non-technical terms
