    DISTRICT OVERVIEW

    HR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.

    LOCATION

    This position can be based in either our Omaha NE or Lenexa KS office. (For individuals based in our Lenexa Kansas office, regular travel to Omaha NE will be required).

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Uncovering Development Opportunities
    • Assess training needs through both systematic assessments and informal discussions
    • Build strong partnerships with subject matter experts and content owners to identify key learning objectives, develop curriculum, and deliver innovative learning solutions that are applicable to the learners’ day to day operations.
    • Determine the most appropriate delivery methods for training, including instructor-led, virtual, computer-based, or blended learning.

    Developing Creative Solutions

    • Design creative, learner-centered, performance-based training utilizing an agile design model that engages large and diverse learning audiences.
    • Develop graphics for instructor-led, virtual lead and online training
    • Develop learning solutions using tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, Storyline, Photoshop, and Microsoft office
    • Integrate emerging methods and technologies into learning solutions
    • Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technologies, and tools through continuous research to ensure our solutions deliver innovation
    • Record and edit video, audio and screen recording files for learning solutions
    • Select colors, images, text styles, and layouts that are professional and convey a specific message
    • Support the revision, re-writing, and review of course content for accuracy and quality. This includes supporting scripting and storyboarding content and leading end to end design for learning solutions
    • Leverages the appropriate technologies to support the development of effective copy, instructional text, and audio/video scripts to aid in the creation of facilitator guides, participant guides, and handouts.

    • Propose new learning approaches, technology, and tools through continuous research to ensure our solutions deliver innovation.
    • Identify ways to incorporate more progressive strategies into development resources
    • Leverage technology to improve learner access to materials and provide just-in-time learning.

    Driving Business Impact

    • Effectively communicate conceptual ideas and development expertise to internal and external teams.
    • Adapt existing learning content to make it relevant for new target audiences.
    • Ensure projects are on-time and under budget.
    • Assesses the effectiveness of training programs and initiatives in accomplishing desired objectives.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Instructional Design, HR, Business, Education or equivalent is required. Degree must provide knowledge consistent with a degree in Instructional Design
    • Must have 5+ years experience developing training/instructional design, in a corporate setting. Prefer experience developing operations or technical training (operations management, project management, sales functions, software/IT, Engineering, Construction or trades/maintenance).
    • Must have proven experience developing curriculum from the concept to final delivery to the trainer. (This is NOT a trainer role).
    • Experience with eLearning authoring tools is required. (Examples: Articulate, Captivate, Lectora, Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe, Photoshop)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must be self-driven, detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.
    • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite
    • Experience with Augmented/Virtual/Mixed/Reality preferred
    • Experience with Gamification/Game Design preferred
    • Must be wiling to travel as necessary up to 20% of the time.
