Looking for an Instructional Designer for Nashville
The Instructional Designer will design, develop, validate, implement, and deliver training initiatives for SSR using the most appropriate delivery methods. This role will collaborate with management and colleagues to identify and plan for training and development needs in alignment with the overall strategic mission of SSR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts needs assessments and collaborates with management and SMEs on objectives and training prioritization
- Creates storyboards, scripts, course content (including traditional eLearning courseware, software simulations, and blended learning), curriculum, job aids, and learner guides by using sound Instructional Design Theory and effectively communicates best practices to internal clients
- Designs and develops training processes, plans, and content with internal resources; equips SMEs to deliver training effectively
- Plans, organizes, implements, and administers training activities
- Delivers and executes training within the organization
- Drives learning development based on the priorities of the organization, consistently improving content and learning opportunities as well as assessing quality of training
- Assists with the management and administration of the company’s Learning Management System
- Performs other Learning and Development duties/assignments as needed
An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Psychology, or comparable field
- Three years of training or facilitation experience in a corporate or professional business setting,
- preferably in training or human resources
- Experience with SCORM compliance and copy writing laws
- Preferred experience developing and delivering training in a STEM industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Proficient in Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, InDesign, or similar graphic design and training development tools
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and instructional design
- Knowledge of SCORM compliance and copy writing laws
- Knowledge of HRIS, ATS, LMS, or other system configuration and administration preferred
- Interpersonal Skills – ability to interact positively and work effectively with others
- Comprehension – the ability to understand information, ideas, and direction presented in writing and/or verbally communicated
- Written Communication Skills – ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Speech Clarity – ability to speak clearly and in a common language so that others can understand you
- Originality – ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation
- Persuasion – ability to help others understand one’s point of view
- Detail-Oriented – ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand what caused a certain outcome
- Presentation Skills – effective in variety of presentation settings both inside and outside the organization; commands attention and can manage group processes during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn’t working
