Being an Instructional Designer with the University of Indianapolis requires expert knowledge in instructional systems design; adult learning theories; methods, strategies, best practices, and techniques of instructional design; deployment; and evaluation to assist in the development and delivery of instructionally-sound courses for our students. As part of the application process, you will be asked to submit a work sample as it relates to Instructional Design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with faculty, one-on-one and in teams in the design of coursework
- Provide Quality Matters-aligned support in the creation of instructional materials
- Create and facilitate high-caliber presentations/faculty workshops
- Regularly participate in meetings requiring close interactions with various project stakeholders (deans, department heads, faculty, and subject matter experts)
- Perform needs and/or gap analysis as requested
- Track work and schedules to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner
- Produce quality results in a dynamic work environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in Instructional Design
- At least 3 years of experience as an instructional designer
- At least 3 years of experience in eLearning design, development, publishing, and content management.
- Experience designing and developing content for use in LMS platforms such as D2L Brightspace
- At least 3 years of experience facilitating focus group discussions, teaching at the undergraduate level, seminars and workshops
- Experience creating instructional design documentation (instructional systems design and documentation, storyboards, narrative scripts, graphics, tests, and scenarios)
- Design and develop curriculum, total course materials for participants and facilitators, including student outlines, handouts, facilitator guides, performance exercises, evaluations, activities, job aids and all other required materials.
- Documented experience in adult education at the undergraduate level, in seminar, lecture, and working-group format
- Ability to conduct front-end analysis for instructional requirements that support adult learning theories
- Comprehensive knowledge of methods and expertise in developing courseware for a variety of delivery methods including instructor-led and online courses
