We are searching for a creative Instructional Design & Training Specialist with strong verbal communication and project management skills to contribute to ESS’s growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative energy storage product authority. As a key customer support resource for the Customer Success organization, you will have an important role in shaping the education, performance, and success of customers, partners, and Field Service Engineers.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering client implementation training, developing eLearning and instructor lead courses and materials, and using evaluation data to improve course content.

The Instructional Design & Training Specialist is expected to become a product expert on ESS’s energy storage systems, their features, functions, and capabilities. As a product training and education expert you will using your project management skills to create and manage course development plans and multiple projects such as: client implementation training delivery, course development and redesign requests, and special projects as assigned to support ESS’s business needs.

What you’ll do at ESS.

• • Research and collect data through engineering documentation, product specifications, and other pertinent source data.
  • Develop comprehensive training programs tailored to meet the unique needs of customers, partners and Field Service Engineers
  • Maintain familiarity with customers/target audiences and their learning needs
  • Develop and maintain training project schedules that complement customer start up and commissioning, partnering with implementation project managers and Field Service site lead to ensure clients and partners can effectively utilize their system.
  • Create engaging and effective training materials including guides, videos, webinars, and other resources to facilitate learning.
  • Deliver virtual and classroom instructor led training to customers or partners resulting in up to 25% travel.
  • Engage with customers and partners to assess training needs, gather feedback, and continuously improve training programs
  • Offer post-training support and follow up sessions to address questions, provide clarifications and ensure successful implementation of energy storage system
  • Analyze training outcomes and gather insights to refine training strategies and enhance future training initiatives
  • Gather feedback from customers and collaborate with the product development team to improve the functionality and usability of our solutions
  • Implement assessment methods to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain an organized repository of training materials and resources for easy access and reference.
  • Participate in product design meetings and other product related meetings, providing consequential input.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to share knowledge and insights gained from training sessions, aiding in product enhancements and customer support.

What you bring to the table.

• Bachelor’s degree in eLearning, Instructional Design, Graphic Design, or relevant eLearning and/or curriculum design and development program or equivalent work experience/certifications.
• Experience designing learning for hardware and software focused solutions
• 2+ years of experience analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating learning content
• Strong classroom training delivery experience
• Ability to work independently with strong organization, project management, and time management skills
• Experience with project planning and managing multiple projects.
• Proficiencies with eLearning platforms: Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, basic understanding of HTML, LMS
• Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
• Ability to travel up to 25%
