In this leadership role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of high-impact enterprise learning and skill development programs for a professional workforce of nearly 30,000 employees, ensuring the highest levels of stakeholder satisfaction and engagement, business alignment, and measurable performance impact.

    HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

    • Lead a team of L&D instructional designers and e-learning developers, inclusive of setting performance expectations, coaching for performance impact, and developing the skills and capabilities of each team member as well as supporting their engagement and growth.
    • Effectively manage all sizes of instructional design and development projects for the enterprise, focusing predominately on the establishment and maintenance of asynchronous, technology-guided, multimedia-based L&D Programs that enable performance and drive measurable results.
    • Ensure the quality and efficacy of GDIT’s L&D Programs, effective use of our established Results-Orientated Agile Design process, tools, and templates, as well as excellence in project management, and internal customer consultation.
    • Partner with senior leadership stakeholders from across GDIT’s Divisions and Functions, and with GDIT’s Vice President of L&D, to create, implement, and maintain comprehensive and multi-faceted learning and development programs to support the continued development of our talent and growth of our company’s capabilities.
    • Lead needs analysis efforts and establish targeted high-level program designs, determining the most effective learning approaches, techniques, and technologies to measurably achieve desired business and performance outcomes and related learning objectives.
    • Guide the design, development, and implementation of multi-modal learning and skill development programs and course materials, ensuring a consistent focus on results and the highest levels of alignment with business priorities and L&D best practices.
    • Guide the establishment of targeted program measurement systems and tools aligned with program outcomes (business, performance, and learning) to continuously assess and improve upon the effectiveness of GDIT L&D Programs.
    • Partner with the L&D Delivery to package, deliver, and manage programs in the most efficient and effective manner possible for the business.
    • Ensure effective communication of and marketing for new L&D Programs at all levels of the organization to generate excitement and drive engagement and participation.
    • Collaborate with other leaders within L&D to support the achievement of our mission, established guiding principles, and the continued advancement of our services and offerings.
    • Effectively manage in alignment with budget and fiscal responsibility considerations.
    • Ensure that all learning solutions are fully accessible and meet usability standards.
    • Build strong consultative partnerships with Project Sponsors and Business Stakeholders.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

    • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
    • Required Experience: 10+ years in Instructional Design/Development or related role.
    • Prior Management/Leadership experience with a passion for empowering and developing others.
    • Current experience interacting with senior leaders in a large, fast-paced, highly complex enterprise.
    • A strong portfolio showcasing interactive and engaging e-learning (required for interview).
    • Track record for delivering measurable performance outcomes that enable skill development.
    • Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end learning programs inclusive of evaluation measures.
    • Demonstrated ability develop interactive eLearning courses with intuitive interfaces and navigation.
    • Demonstrated excellence with graphics, audio, video, and other multi-media to promote learning.
    • Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate) and instructional technology best practices.
    • Experience implementing and evaluating the use of 508 accessibility and other eLearning standards.
    • Strong technical aptitude and a quick learner of new technologies and concepts.
    • Exemplary communication, relationship building and collaboration skills.

    It would be great if you also had:

    • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field a plus.
    • Multi-media, video production, and/or graphic design skills and experience a plus.
