The Global Instructional Design Manager is a member of the Global Education Team reporting to the VP of Education. In this role, you will work in close partnership the global Curriculum Developers, Global Education team and US Curriculum team to develop and manage digital and instructor led curriculum. You must be highly organized with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate successfully with stakeholders throughout the company.
- Define and implement industry’s best instructional design strategies to support the modernization and progress Dermalogica’s curriculum.
- Ensures brand consistency is met within final assets in the areas of in-person and virtual workshops and online learning.
- Serves as the guardian for all curriculum related materials.
- Author educational content using a creative writing approach while incorporating critical thinking and design considerations.
- Transform previously drafted content into engaging educational lessons that are easily understood and digested for use in the real world.
- Collaborate closely with curriculum developers, subject matter expert (SME) and stakeholders to thoroughly understand the provided course content.
- Creatively transform outlined content into short, bite-sized lessons for e-learning.
- Synthesize technical content into a concise format written for easy absorption and retention.
- Ensure written lessons maintain content accuracy and instructional design integrity as provided by SME and curriculum developer.
- Manages quality control, proofreading, and distribution of eLearning courseware, training PowerPoints, SharePoint sites, and training-related materials.
- Ensure all content is on brand and is representative of Dermalogica’s guiding principles.
- Support digital based (on demand) and instructor based (ILT) curriculum revisions and branding updates.
- Support digital asset management on Widen and SharePoint.
- Prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust quickly to shifting priorities.
- Seamlessly and successfully work with Global Education and US teams.
- Always be open to learning, adapting, and implementing feedback from SME and team to ensure highest level of output and to increase skill set.
- Incorporate best practices for visual design, copywriting and copy editing.
- Assist all team members as needed including editing lessons and assuming administrative responsibilities.
- Contributes to other learning assignments to advance training and skills development for Dermalogica accounts, influencers, and consumer audiences as directed
- Consistently meet deadlines.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and application of best practices.
- Plan and manage all tasks within project management software.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- 3 – 5 years of writing experience
- 2+ years’ experience with instructional design and e-learning software
- High proficiency and experience in learning, adapting, and implementing style guides to content writing.
- Strong copywriting and proofreading skills, with astute attention to detail.
- Proficiency with an LMS platform
- Solid project management skills including planning cross-functional work, handling timelines, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, and working to keep stakeholders advised.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors in related field – Instructional Design, Education/English/Writing/Journalism a plus.
- Esthetics or Cosmetology license highly desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and Outlook)
- Familiar with eLearning technology (Articulate Suite).
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to maintain work deadlines and execute work projects efficiently.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires 60% of weekly work schedule at Dermalogica Headquarters in Carson, CA with the option of 30% of weekly work schedule remote.
Requires the ability to on occasion have a flexible schedule due to special events and project deadlines.
