Duties
What you’ll do:
- Create accessible, user-friendly eLearning interfaces while using graphic design principles and tools to enhance the aesthetics and usability of eLearning materials.
- Develop online and other web-based content to be deployed into the state’s learning management system (LMS) and alternative web formats (webinar, eLearning, online tutorials, and other electronic learning formats) that will address the needs of the enterprise and agency specific training and development needs of the One Washington program.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and internal departments to identify learning objectives.
- Develop online eLearning courses, using Articulate 360, web authoring tools, videography, graphic design, and eLearning technologies to meet strict timelines.
- Work with project SMEs and systems integrator (SI) to write scripts and develop storyboards during the production of eLearning and adhere to timeline in project agreement.
- Develop associated tools such as wireframes, storyboards, short movies, screen recordings, online desk aids, or handbooks to accompany eLearning.
- Coordinate and conduct complex usability testing and accessibility testing for eLearning.
- Deploy web-based and eLearning content via the Washington State Learning Management System (LMS).
- Assist and influence training communication plans with staff.
- Provide alternatives for eLearning publishing for those covered agencies/higher education institutions when necessary to include additional LMS and publishing on websites.
- Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance checks to identify and resolve any technical or instructional issues.
- Collaborate with the technical team to resolve any eLearning platform or software issues.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, Adult Learning Theory or similar field. Two (2) years of relevant professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement;
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience designing learning experiences for adults;
- Demonstrated experience working in Articulate 360 or a similar eLearning development tool;
- Demonstrated experience in storyboarding;
- The ability to apply the base principles of instructional design, human performance improvement and principles of adult learning, developing, implementing and evaluating training/development courses & programs;
- The ability to use graphic design software, such as, In-Design, Illustrator or Photoshop, to perform advanced graphic design and editing functions;
- Proficient in MS Office Suite – including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, etc. and;
- Demonstrated experience using desktop publishing software, such as Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Publisher, to produce advanced publications.
