Artificial Intelligence has taken the world by a storm with the endless possibilities to automate a lot of routine tasks. More creatively, you can use the AI content creation tools to create all types of contents from Videos, Lessons, Images, Quizzes, Resume etc. In this post we will see how you can use the OpenAI API to create questions for your Moodle Quiz.
The OpenAI Question Generator Plugin uses the OpenAI GPT API to help you setup the automatic creation of questions. Kindly note that you will need a commercial subscription via a paid OpenAI account.
Once setup ,the OpenAI Question Generator plugin allows the teachers to submit a paragraph of text and automatically generate Moodle questions. It can generate True/False, Short Answer, and Multiple Choice questions.
As a teacher you can follow these steps to create questions using the OpenAI Question generator block:
- Add the “Open AI Questions” block to the course.
- Click the link in the block to generate questions.
- Paste in the source text in the textbox, select the question type, and how many questions you want to generate
- Once the questions are generated, you can edit the questions and answers before saving, and for multiple choice questions select which answer should be marked as correct.
- Questions are always added to the default category in the course at the moment
