    Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. The My Navy Learning (MNL) team is seeking a Sr. Instructional Design Software Developer to support their effort.

    This is a REMOTE working opportunity.

    The MY Navy Learning focus is to modernize/reengineer existing training/learning content leveraging emerging eLearning technologies and learning science standards to support adaptive learning. The project develops and delivers an adaptive training data model, metadata, supporting competency data for selected Navy ratings, Learner Record data profiles, and integrating experience Application Programing Interface (xAPI) with existing and modernized training content.

    As a Sr. Instructional Design Software Developer on the project, you will:

    • Modernize the presentation of learning content including curriculum and lessons.
    • Use your software development skills to present that content through a web interface and connect it to the learning framework.
    • Use JavaScript to control communication between the content and the LMS in the browser and XML to sequence the content.
    • Modernize the way the content is presented and controlled and training results managed and promulgated using the latest eLearning specification.

    Summary:

    The ideal candidate would have in-depth knowledge of the US Navy’s Expert knowledge on adaptive training and Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Total Learning Architecture (TLA) to extend My Navy Learning (MNL) capability in providing personalized, tailored and adaptive learning content.

    Responsibilities:

    • Providing subject matter expertise and architecture guidance on Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Total Learning Architecture (TLA), and My Navy Learning (MNL) in support of a software engineering team.
    • Managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware and web application, including: specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance.
    • Modernizing/reengineering existing training/learning content leveraging emerging eLearning technologies and learning science standards to support adaptive learning.
    • Developing, and delivering adaptive training data model, metadata, supporting competency data for selected Navy ratings, Learner Record data profiles, and integrating experience Application Programing Interface (xAPI) with existing and modernized training content.
    • Integrating Rating Career Domain Continuum (RCDC) data models into MNL including but not limited to the Career Flow Map (CFM) and qualification data.
    • Performing enhancement to MNL Recommender to increase the efficacy of the MNL User Interface (UI).
    • Analyzing training courses in Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) format and developing a strategy to convert those courses into cmi5 format in alignment with ADL DoDI 1322.26.
    • Experience converting training courses from SCORM format to cmi5 using the Navy specifications

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
    • 7+ years of experience developing learning content solutions as described
    • Experience developing software using Java, JavaScript, and XML
    • Experience with Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) and Experience API (xAPI)
    • Security+ preferred
    • DoD Secret clearance
