    Job Description


    Responsibilities:

    Meticulously project manages all workflow assignments and timelines as the Training and Development Manager by executing the following duties and responsibilities either directly or through your management of the Training and Development team:

    • Execution of Training Programs and Events
      • Develop and implement best-in-class training programs for corporate departments, retail sales, warehouse, and distribution centers during organizational changes or supporting company initiatives
      • Provide guidance and direction in the execution of training initiatives and training plans to ensure quality and consistent facilitation of trainings
      • Conduct follow-up studies of completed training to evaluate and measure KPI results
      • Validate the consistency of facilitation and effectiveness of Tile Shop in-person bootcamps
      • Obtain, develop, and approve all training materials for corporate, field, or DC use, including eLearning, virtual, in-person trainings and/or job aids
      • Organize and lead annual training and development needs assessments
      • Systematically modify training programs as needed, focusing on advancing automation and technology support
      • Manage the execution of the weekly field trainings (Saturday Morning Meetings) and ensure alignment with company and sales initiatives
      • Approve arrangements and supplies for employee development and training events in accordance with the training budget
      • Ensure effective development of facilitation resources are developed throughout the company
    • Ensure the Continued Development of Tile Shop Teams and Processes
      • Train and coach managers, supervisors, and others involved in employee development efforts
      • Ensure accessibility of job aids by leading work efforts around the monitoring and updating of Groutline training resources
      • Collaborate with departmental leaders to support their team development opportunities (i.e. quarterly meetings, in-person trainings, etc.)
      • Facilitate variety of training sessions or train-the-trainer sessions as needed
      • Build and maintain a comprehensive “training library” for consistent training that follows defined Tile Shop career paths
      • Enhance the employee onboarding experience continuously
      • Responsible for the oversight of the development opportunities and execution of trainings for all team members
    • Management of the Training Team
      • Monitor training budgets and program expenditures in addition to preparing and maintaining expense reports
      • Provide work direction
      • Performance management of the training team, including performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, team meetings and executing disciplinary actions needed
      • Provide leadership and development opportunities for the training team
      • Together with the Senior Direction, provide collaboration and guidance in the structure and organization of the talent team
    • Execution of Company Initiatives through Cross-Functional Collaboration
      • Collaborate effectively with all levels of management to ensure the representation of the “People” voice in departments, initiatives, projects, people management, and development
      • Ensure effective communication and planning with all departments and stakeholders in company-wide projects
      • Attend meetings with SMEs and ensure expectations for resources and timelines are communicated to all stakeholders
      • Address operational challenges and issues in a timely and effective manner
      • Collaborate with departments to implement solutions and process improvements
      • Thoughtfully manage the company-wide initiatives calendar to ensure not only timeliness of messaging, but also to not overload the field
      • Develop and maintain organizational communications
      • React promptly to business needs, providing resources as necessary
      • Maintain and update the Operation Manual as required
    • Training Software and Platform Management
      • Communicate changes to systems effectively and keep all resources on platforms like Groutline current and relevant
      • Manage vendor/consulting relationships with platforms such as Bridge, LinkedIn, HSI, Articulate, etc.
      • Provide oversight and vision for use and future development of Tile Shop University (currently Bridge Learning Management System)
    • Compliance
      • Ensure employee training compliance with company guidelines and trainings in collaboration with HR and IT teams
      • Ensure compliance reporting of training courses is communicated to the leadership team in order to monitor and drive compliance
      • Partner with the safety committee to ensure our employees meet established safety standards
    • Support Corporate Vision, Mission, and Values
      • Exemplify the desired People First culture and organizational philosophies
      • Standardize the look of all training materials in partnership with the Marketing team for consistent communication and branding
    • Continued Learning
      • Take continued education courses and attend conferences to stay current with industry trends
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications


    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
    • Proficiency in a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods (LMS, intranets, eLearnings, video creation and editing, etc.)
    • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
    • Ability to design and implement effective training and development initiatives
    • Ability to change gears based on thoughtful prioritization of workload and resources
    • Emotional intelligence
    • Ability to lead change

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or 7+ years of work experience
    • Five years of experience in designing and implementing employee development programs
    • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential is preferred but not required
    • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential is preferred but not required

    Requirements:

    • Must be able to facilitate bootcamps, meetings and navigate store, warehouse and distribution environments
    • Ability to work varying days and hours, based on business needs
    • Ability to travel, attend conferences
    • This position is based out of the Tile Shop headquarters in Plymouth MN
