The Instructional Designer II is responsible for the design and development of workplace learning and communications materials for Client Operations. This individual will analyze assigned projects to determine learning objectives and design and develop materials for delivery methods including blended, virtual synchronous, and asynchronous environments.
The successful candidate will have proven proficiency utilizing rapid design tools (including eLearning software, graphic design software and multimedia tools) and processes, and experience writing learning objectives and developing assessments.
The Instructional Designer II will build and maintain strong partnerships with the Client Operations team as well as various departments and job roles throughout Cox Automotive to provide innovative, engaging, and instructionally sound learning deliverables for our clients.
Job Description
- Analyze the learning need to develop accurate and measurable learning objectives
- Partner with curriculum and training team members to design and edit instructionally sound multimedia content, on-demand content and instructor-led content
- Own the ideation, storyboarding, execution, project management and post-production of educational content in an efficient, timely fashion – often on a tight deadline
- Blend multiple assets (art and live action) into engaging multimedia storylines, using third party art and video, as well as creating original video that adheres to the Cox Automotive brand standards and guidelines
- Develop content and resources that support the learner throughout learning lifecycle of topic (pre, during, and post
- Develop strong relationships with SMEs and IDs throughout CAI to develop virtual content
Produce documentation to support learning needs for Client Operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field
AND
- Minimum 3 years’ experience Instructional Design required
- Able to operate and thrive independently in fast paced and ambiguous environment with a mindset of continuous improvement
- Proven experience taking complex concepts and converting them to creative, engaging, and relevant learning experiences
Exceptional planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
Skills
- Multimedia Development (Proficiency: Intermediate-Advanced) Demonstrated experience creating audio and video, including script writing and storyboarding (voiceover training and experience a bonus)
- Graphic Design (Proficiency: Beginner-Intermediate) Experience with graphic design for learning (documentation, presentations, guides, self-paced modules, etc.) and graphic learning software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, SnagIt
- Instructional Design (Proficiency: Beginner-Intermediate) Experience designing, and developing learning deliverables, including use of eLearning software, such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
- Business and Collaboration Software (Proficiency: Intermediate – Advanced) Demonstrated experience using software to complete projects and stay connected with key partners, such as Office 365 and similar products
- Communication Skills (Proficiency: Intermediate – Advanced) Demonstrated proficiency in written communications and creating effective presentations utilizing Office 365 and similar products
