    Position Summary:

    As part of the Professional Development team, the Learning and Design Specialist will design and facilitate learning programs on a variety of topics offered to attorneys and staff. The Learning and Design Specialist will collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, project teams and members of the Professional Development Team to create, design, and develop job aides, quick reference cards, guides, eLearning, micro-learning and other resources used when facilitating instructor-led programs and blended learning curricula. This role will be primarily responsible for a regional set of U.S. offices, however, the position also works on enterprise projects and training initiatives.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Builds relationships with various stakeholders in U.S. offices to understand their business objectives and align training efforts
    • Partners with regional talent services professionals, business directors, or operational department heads to conduct performance and needs analysis to recommend and implement appropriate learning interventions to address skill gaps and provide feedback to management
    • Serves as training lead where project management skills will be required to coordinate efforts and resources within the Professional Development team as part of a larger project team
    • Works with to ensure firm-branded templates are used and that deliverables are reviewed for quality assurance prior to implementation
    • Designs and develops world-class engaging programs and curricula; defines objectives, outlines course content and exercises, and develops content, assessments, and supporting materials for learning efforts
    • Designs and develops eLearning, videos and other digital resources to support learning initiatives.
    • Facilitates learning programs for attorneys and staff on the firm’s core applications (live classroom, virtual training, and one-on-one instruction) and Global New Hire Training
    • Effectively uses the firm’s virtual platforms to ensure the learning environment is engaging, working in conjunction with other members of the learning team as needed to keep up with the new features of the virtual platforms
    • Teams up with software rollout teams by participating in pilot orientation sessions, conducting testing and reporting results, soliciting feedback from pilot users, and compiling statistics of overall pilot results
    • Generates class rosters, reports, and updates attendance in GT’s Learning Management System
    • Provides metrics on learning programs as requested
    • Stays up to date with industry and field current trends
    • Performs other job-related duties as required

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Ability to establish credibility with client base as a valuable resource and consultant in technical training and applications
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor, and presentation. Including active listening and ability to convey information clearly
    • Highly motivated, self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision, as well as take a proactive approach in being team-oriented
    • High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively
    • Strong project management skills
    • Ability to use tools such as Camtasia, Storyline, Captivate and Rise

    Qualifications & Prior Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Education or related field preferred
    • Five years of experience in an education and training environment, preferably in a professional services organization
    • Prior legal industry experience a plus
    • Proven proficiency in designing and facilitating training programs in classroom and virtual environments
    • Proficient in the application of instructional design, curriculum design, and adult-learning principles
    • Experience facilitating soft skill or leadership training
    • Strong technical knowledge of multiple software applications used in a legal environment including MS Office 2016 and higher, iManage FileSite/DeskSite or similar large document management system, and BigHand Hyperstyles or similar document production tools
    • CPLP a plus
    • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
