    Job Summary & Responsibilities:

    Nevro is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to develop learning content for instructor led, virtual instructor led, instructional video tutorials and eLearning content. This role supports the Learning & Development (L&D) team, in Nevro’s Commercial Sales Department. The primary duties include collaborating with SMEs to define content for new courses, refreshing of out-of-date courses, creating additional learning support materials and learning paths.

    Role Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Masters in Instructional Design a Plus
    • 8+ years of progressive experience leading course development in a corporate learning environment, preferably for product training or sales enablement function.
    • Medical device or Pharma experience is preferred.
    • Exhibits advanced wide-ranging experience, using in-depth professional knowledge, acumen, concepts and company objectives to develop, resolve complex design, models and procedures.
    • Provides solutions to issues in creative and effective ways.
    • Understands the interrelationships of different disciplines and the need to gain stakeholder alignment.
    • Directs the application of existing principles and guides development of new policies and ideas.
    • Understands and works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
    • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
    • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, evaluating, adapting of complex techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
    • Work is reviewed upon completion and is consistent with departmental objectives.
    • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
    • Adapts style and uses persuasion in delivering messages that relate to the wider firm business.
    • Frequently advises others on complex matters. May be accountable through team for delivery of work products.
    • Independently performs instructional design tasks such as performance needs analysis, performance objectives and evaluation methods. Regularly, interfaces with Sr. Level leaders as key stakeholders in the process.
    • Provides expert technical and creative and instructional design recommendations and support to the L&D team in the development of eLearning courses, instructor guides, training content, instructional videos, and job aids.
    • Provides strategic instructional recommendations based on content type and complexity.

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Demonstrated Instructional Design experience with emphasis on use of innovative tools.
    • Strong team-player who can incorporate input from others and can generate consensus through inclusion.
    • Strong thinker and creative thinker who is intellectually curious.
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities. Ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.
    • Ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, customers, clinical & sales partners.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences.
    • Effective Project Management skills.
    • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated, progressive experience designing and developing eLearning content using tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline.
    • High-level proficiency in instructional video creation and editing tools such as Adobe Premier Pro, Camtasia, etc. required. (Note: Camtasia preferred.)
    • Demonstrated proficiency in audio editing tools to enhance instructional videos.
    • Exceptional proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or other design tools preferred.
    • Advanced PowerPoint skills required (Master slide templates, animation etc.)
    • Demonstrated knowledge of current/best practice adult learning theory with practical application.
    • Able communicate instructional strategies and make recommendations for the best approach.
    • Good understanding of the instructional course development workflow with excellent project management skills. Able to work closely with Subject Matter Experts to move instructional design projects from needs assessment to delivery.
    • Able to apply creative approaches to problem solving and communications. Ability to simplify technical or complex information, processes and tasks into easy-to-understand language or graphics.
    • Strong esthetic design sense.
    • Strong facilitation and inquiry skills, to collaboratively work with team members, SMEs and business stakeholders to gather performance goals, key content and incorporate them into an effective training program which includes content assets such as eLearning courses, micro-learning courses, tutorials, job aids, and instructional videos.
    • Experience in Learning Path and/or curriculum development.
    • Excellent time management skills/organizational skills to manage day-to-day activities of multiple assigned projects, communicate project updates, and proactively identify scope changes to assess impact.

    Target Pay Range:

    $79.33 – $86.54. The final starting salary offer to the successful candidate will be determined by evaluating several factors, such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, alignment with market data, and geography. *Nevro is a multi-state employer, so the target pay range may increase or decrease depending on the city/state.
