This position will be responsible for designing curriculum to expand and enhance training available to Direct Support Professionals and Support Coordinators who work in organizations that support New Jersey’s Division of Developmental Disabilities. Successful candidates will update existing curriculum and/or develop new engaging, learner-centered training courses, modules, and materials in a variety of platforms including classroom-based instruction, remote learning, interactive e-learning, videos, webinars, and resource materials.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- In collaboration with project teams, conduct research of curricula to determine what materials, resources and innovations should be added, revised, or adapted to meet new learning models.
- Develop/redesign curricula suitable for adults and ELL, which will include traditional classroom, fully online, and/or hybrid content.
- Prepare curriculum materials (i.e., handouts, reading materials, videos, presentations) in multiple variations, for traditional to hybrid classrooms.
- Collaborate with Boggs Center training teams and external consultants to develop curricula that ensures work is consistent with the mission and goals of the project.
- Exhibit extensive knowledge of relevant technologies and the principles and theories of adult learning.
- Determine how instructional methods, technologies and tools are applied to change knowledge and behaviors in alignment with the project goals.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of learning and instructional theories and their applications as well as emerging technologies.
- Utilize one or more eLearning rapid authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.) as well as video and audio editing tools (e.g., Camtasia, Audacity, Power Director, etc.), to create curriculum content.

- Requires a bachelor’s degree in instructional design, curriculum/instructional development, instructional technology, or a related field.
- Two years of experience in instructional design.
- Experience working in or with non-profit Federal, County or Local government organization.
- Advanced degree.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Travel to meetings throughout the state (some limited out of state travel may be required), including the transportation of facilitation materials to site locations.
