In this role, you will work with the Learning and Leadership team in the development and delivery of engaging training materials. As a Learning and Development Manager, you will use your passion and creativity to offer learning experiences that effectively optimize our employees’ skills and competencies. Successful candidates possess a positive demeanor and superior communication skills.

This role can work a hybrid schedule at one of our major US sites such as Austin, Chanhassen, Houston or St. Louis. The ability to travel up to 75% is expected

AS SENIOR MANAGER, LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT, YOU WILL:

  • Lead the delivery, both in-person and virtual, of Emerson’s core leadership training workshops to all levels of employees.
  • Facilitate content, including Emerson-designed and vendor-designed, in a variety of delivery modes depending on business needs.
  • Experiment with innovative approaches to learning that drive employee engagement and leadership effectiveness.
  • Contribute toward content evolution in parallel with Learning and Development strategy.
  • When vital, manage learning and development projects from initial design to final program execution.
  • Support the evolving workshop strategy by providing leadership and subject matter expertise on the design of both hybrid and virtual workshops.
  • Develop and maintain job-aids, quick-reference guides, and other training materials.
  • Support and implement Leadership and Development strategies in collaboration with Learning and Development leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Lead post-workshop coaching and debrief sessions with participants.
  • Build, manage, and leverage positive, collaborative partnerships among business collaborators, and peers.
  • Train and certify other Emerson facilitators on Learning and Development curriculum.
  • Consult with Business unit leaders on the appropriate development experiences to help achieve their business strategies.
  • Assist with training vendor and consultant relationships.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff, including providing career development and planning activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in creation and facilitation of multi-level leadership development curriculum.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience defining, developing, and delivering learning and development programs for all levels within the organization.
  • A great teammate with a can-do demeanor who can collaborate with collaborators to solve problems.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to quickly adapt to the needs of the audience.
  • Proven history of delivering best in class, high-quality, learner centric solutions.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate to employees at all levels via various delivery methods, including instructor led and eLearning modules.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, sophisticated environment, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize activities.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
