Maps Credit Union seeks a Manager of Learning and Development to develop learning strategies and build and implement training programs that proactively drive progress toward the Credit Union’s objectives and goals. This position collaborates with department and branch management to assess needs and offer effective training solutions.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Organization Functions:
- Build, implement and evaluate programs and learning opportunities to meet company goals and individual growth needs. These include trainings related to operational functions, sales & service culture, member service, professional and interpersonal development skills.
- Collaborate with department and branch management to complete needs assessments, skill and knowledge gaps, and evaluate training program effectiveness in relation to organizational objectives and strategies; proactively build and offer learning solutions to meet those needs.
- Understand and apply adult learning theory and instructional design principles and best practices. Determine the best method for delivery including classroom, virtual, eLearning, 1 to 1, workshops and blended learning platforms. Successfully deliver in all methods and coach L&D specialists to do the same. Design and create training materials appropriate for the method of delivery that help promote and sustain learning.
- Measure and evaluate the efficacy of the offerings and modify as needed to ensure best results. Make or recommend decisions regarding Maps training best practices and continuous improvement of operational needs.
- Prepare management reports as needed. Ensure training programs are in compliance with applicable laws, statutes and regulations.
- Compile an annual training calendar based on researched needs and Credit Union organizational goals.
- Assist with the development of the annual budget. Manage expenses within approved budget.
- Facilitate credit union training sessions (e.g., In Service Day) or make arrangements for external or internal speakers; travel to remote branches to deliver training programs.
Leadership and Coaching:
- Help employees with personal career development goals through coaching, career planning, and recommendation of trainings/learning opportunities. Have fierce conversations designed to assist the employee in their personal development endeavors.
- Address employee performance issues by providing staff with clear, Outward, and constructive feedback.
- Make new hire decisions and manage staff performance and goals. Complete department performance appraisals as needed.
- Act as a role model for Maps core values and appropriate professional behavior. Genuinely participate in the decision-making process of the Credit Union’s future, sustaining and guiding Maps culture, and furthering Maps goals.
- Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance related Policies.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Training or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of Training and Adult Education experience with demonstrated ability to develop, facilitate and conduct training programs with successful outcomes.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in supervisory/management roles.
- Must be bondable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced education/certification in individual employee development assessments, coaching, instructional design, and eLearning.
- Financial services experience.
Starting Salary Range: $75,149 – $93,937 per year.
This position is eligible for flex-hybrid work (2-days in the office and 3-days remote per week). It is not 100% remote.
