Instructional Designer contractor role with Georgia Tech Research Institute’s Talent Management-Organizational Development department.

  • Support/Lab Unit: Organizational Development
  • Length of Contract: 6 months
  • Citizenship: US citizenship required
  • Hourly rate: $34.25
  • Percentage of onsite vs. remote work: Remote, with the potential to return to the office during the contract

Job Description:

Design and develop online course curricula and instructional materials. Activities focus on creating new courses and programs as well as enhancing and improving existing course offerings.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality eLearning content, including courses, videos, animations, and job aids, in alignment with organizational branding.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify to perform needs assessment, design and develop eLearning content, and deploy content to the organization.
  • Use course authoring tools, animation software, and graphic design software to develop visually appealing self-paced learning modules, micro-learning content, and videos.
  • Ensure quality and compatibility of SCORM files with Saba learning management system
  • Partner with instructor-led trainers to create hybrid learning programs.
  • Manage eLearning projects to ensure on-time delivery
  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of eLearning deliverables
  • Provide technical support to end-users for eLearning access, navigation, or completion challenges

Required  Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Instructional System, Instructional Design, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four to five years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient use of authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline 360, Rise
  • Experience with various digital media and animation tools, including Vyond, PowToon, Biteable, Camtasia
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories to develop curriculum content
  • Ability to write effective learning content, video scripts; excellent grammar, spelling,  and punctuation
  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements for eLearning and web content

Notes:

The person in this role will develop asynchronous learning assets for us, including eLearning modules, microlearning modules, videos, and animated graphics.

A curriculum development background is beneficial to the success of this person. Having the ability to write content or scripts is crucial for success too. This person is not a ‘teacher’ or in-person facilitator; they work primarily with online course authoring software.

The ability to provide consultation for best practices to leaders and other high-profile stakeholders is beneficial too.
