    Position Overview

    Hiring Manager: Michele Gillen

    The Epic Instructional Designer is dedicated to supporting the learning and development needs of our organization, its members, and business operations by developing written documentation, training curriculum, and other supporting material hosted in OCHIN’s Learning Management System and used in live (in-person and virtual) courses, on demand (eLearning-based) courses, webinars, and other coaching sessions.

    Essential Duties

    • Effectively implement training to OCHINs Learning Management System (LMS) through evaluation, editing, and testing
    • Facilitation of learner content
    • Set and maintain the highest standards through the design lifecycle (scope, research and analysis, design, development, and launch) to include rapid pilot tests and feedback sessions at all stages
    • Consult with Stakeholders to identify learner needs gaps, align, and execute on learning outcomes, learner experience design, and timelines to meet business goals
    • Provide an intentional balance of instructional modalities to optimize the adult leaner experience (tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, audio and video scripts, story boards, navigational text, quizzes, tests, etc.)
    • Create engaging, inclusive, and adaptive learning material for OCHIN team members at all levels
    • Continually raise the development bar by seeking automation where appropriate and the most current solutions in learning-based design, tools, and systems
    • Present Corporate Training data and strategies as well as launch trainings to Leaders and Staff during huddles, Leadership meetings, and other OCHIN events
    • Assist with the mentorship, onboarding, and training of OCHIN internal Interns
    • Maintain knowledge of Learning trainings with an emphasis in a minimum of one of the core areas, with the ability to back up a secondary:

    o Clinical / Ambulatory / Dental

    o Practice Management/Patient Access

    o Professional Billing / Revenue Cycle/Hospital Billing

    o Reporting

    • Design and maintain courses, including identifying key learning objectives, developing interactive, scenario-based learning experiences, and knowledge checks such as quizzes and competency exams for all of Learning Division including but not limited to Install Training, ESA Content, Grant/HCCN, Enhancement Pack/Service Pack/Client Pack.
    • Create and maintain written deliverables including step-by-step user guide documentation, facilitator guides, learner workbooks, video/audio scripts, and other materials all of Learning Division including but not limited to Install Training, ESA Content, Grant/HCCN, Enhancement Pack/Service Pack/Client Pack.
    • Create and maintain interactive and non-interactive video content for all of Learning Division including but not limited to Install Training, ESA Content, Grant/HCCN, Enhancement Pack/Service Pack/Client Pack.

    ·Time Allocation:

    o EPS/CPS/SPs- 25% (Flexing based on operational need)

    o Training Development and Enhancement (Training Guides, Job Aids, Training Slide Decks, E-Learnings, Documentation Development)–55% (Flexing- higher at beginning of projects)

    o Training/Special Projects (ie. Cures)- 10%

    o Admin- 8%

    o Learning/Special Projects- 2%

    Travel based on operational need to support the OCHIN collaborative

    Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience to meet the needs of the position
    • Certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management as appropriate
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience developing training content, such as PowerPoints, interactive exercises, facilitator guides, etc.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience developing technical and/or strategic written documentation.
    • 2+ years’ experience with the clinical, practice management, reporting and/or billing functions and workflows of an ambulatory clinic preferred
    • Currently accredited (or equivalent) in OCHIN workflows in one of the following core areas:
    • Ambulatory/Clinical/Dental/Acute
    • Practice Management/Patient Access
    • Revenue Cycle/Professional Billing/Hospital Billing
    • Reporting
    • Experience with Epic applications and/or NextGen applications preferred
    • Formal Trainer Credentialing, Certification or Proficiency in any of these applications preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to operate within ambiguity and to navigate, organize, and prioritize tasks including those with short turnaround times.
    • 3+ years’ experience facilitating in classroom (in-person or virtual) adult learning content, including the ability to:
    • Utilize current adult learning principles and practices
    • Experience facilitating and continuously improving high quality, learner focused programs, using engaging delivery techniques to achieve appropriate learning outcomes
    • Maintain Learner engagement by delivering content utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrated experience in Articulate 360 and Storyline plus one or more of the following instructional design software: Vyond, Camtasia, Lectora, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and related SCORM compliant production tools.
    • Experience with Moodle, Cornerstone and edX is required, experience with Paylocity is a plus
    • Experience in working in a high growth, innovative healthcare or technology organization preferred.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
