This position requires quick assimilation and easy adoption of end user systems training on systems like Microsoft Dynamics CRM, JD Edwards and other systems. The Technical Trainer must be able to document current workflows in the user community and develop ways to improve learning opportunities to increase productivity. The Technical Trainer understands the marketing aspects of Business Applications Systems training and contributes to user adoption and overall satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts business applications training (software rollouts, new hire, continuing education and productivity training) using the appropriate methods best suited to obtain the required outcome (e.g., e-learning, web-based learning, mobile application learning, podcasting, virtual classroom, videos, tutorials, and traditional classroom)
- Enages with multiple types of job roles (i.e. sales, construction, operations, finance) and SME’s in a way that ensures systems applications training is viewed as a value add – i.e. helps employees to perform at a higher level – vs. simply knowledge on how to use the system.
- Writes, edits, and proofreads various types of training and vendor materials (end-user documentation, video, eLearning, user tips, and more).
- Experienced in delivering SCORM-compliant courses, ensuring a clean visual aesthetic that is consistent with company branded standards.
- Collaborate with end users to understand unique requirements based on role, business unit, and office location, and offer training solutions that are adaptable to those needs.
- Produces ancillary training documents to support all forms of learning including quick reference guides, job aids and manager toolkits.
- Designs training curriculums to provide initial instruction and build skills.
- Creates logical rollout and training plans.
- Updates and maintains existing learning content to ensure that learning programs are current and relevant.
- Works with functional leaders to determine student roster and works with Learning Technology Specialist to enroll students in courses.
- Works with Learning Technology Specialist and tracks ongoing training efforts and produces timely reports to functional leaders and Director of Learning & Development.
- Develops in conjunction with Director of Learning & Development and SME’s a scorecard to measure the effectiveness of the complete suite of learning interventions deployed.
Qualifications:
- BA degree preferred + 5 – 7 Years experience in business applications system training in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Significant experience in adult learning facilitation and content design.
- Strong listening skills.
- Advanced Writing Skills (grammar, clarity and consistency)
- Strong understanding of adult learning with the ability to transform complex ideas and materials into consumable parts.
- Highly organized and capable of successfully advancing multiple projects at once.
- Proficient in authoring tools and knowledgeable in SCORM-compliant courseware methodology.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
